Needless to say whomever gets the R2 first should post caps (if they can) and I'll edit them into the comparison.
I only need the URLs please.

Is the R3 2 disc of CR limited in any way?
Was going to pick it up at some point.

I heard it was more like a minute, but 17 seconds or 1 minute, cut is cut & I won't put my money into a cut version. I've ordered the R3 version...

Barbarian King wrote:I read some reviews from people who have the R3 on HTF and DVDTalk that said that the R3 DTS track has a drop-out around 90 minutes or so. Perhaps someone can verify this?
I have heard that the sound drop-out is only on the initial batch of R3 discs. I have not yet received mine from CD-Wow but when I have I will check my copy.

Yup I have read some different time dofferences, I think someone said theres a few extra titles on the film so they add up to some of that runtime. But the big bond fans seem to have done a frame by frame comarison and someone said 17 seocnds total, when pictures start to come out of what is cut it will help as its hard to beleve many posters yet:D
but it does look like one single scene is missing from the UK cinema version, when someone gets the UK dvd they can tell us if its on that. Its the rope over the shoulder scene.

Yeah the rope over the shoulder shot was definitely missing in the UK cinema version (probably about 5 or 6 seconds).
I heard that this shot is included in the USA cinema print (and also the R1 DVD) but that 2 other scenes were trimmed / changed for the USA cinema & R1 DVD - those being the bathroom fight at the start and the stairwell fight (which is apparently where most of the cuts occur).

Its quite funny that so many version are all over the world, sadly not for us lot who have to pay for the dvd and decide which ones for us
I am sticking with the Region 3 for now (when it comes from cdwow) and guess the HD version will have to be compared as well, and the inevitable special edition in a year or so's time. Fingers crossed I have HD by then

I have watched my R3 copy of Casino Royale today & I can confirm that there is no sound dropout on the DTS track.

I'm holding out till I have HD before I buy this film. I hope there will be an uncut one that I can actually play.

I reckon both the UK & USA Blu-Ray discs will be cut if the DVDs are anything to go by. I might try & rent the UK BD to find out...

Yeah exactly

I would expect the HD/BR discs to be the same as their region-coded DVD counterparts. There's been only one video submission to the BBFC for example. If there's a SE Asian HD disc you might get lucky...? The R3 is cheap enough to get just in case....

I'll probably just get the UK blu-ray until a better option comes along. It's the version I saw at the cinema, and it appears to be less cut than the American version anyway. I'll enjoy it more than the uncut R3 DVD.

Casino Royale has a Korean BRD disc atleast, I guess Korea is the same region as Japan and USA... thusly A/1. It really bothers me that BDForum stuck with region coding... :-/

The region coding will be cracked sooner or later.
Its only a matter of time...

But knowing Sony, they'll start releasing discs with updated security measures to fuck everyone over again, and even cause problems for some people with their default region

Posted: 22 Mar 2007, 10:50
by IronMonkey
Thats true. But then those new measures will get cracked again. And Sony will release new security measures. And hackers will crack those. And so on & so on...
