It's a shame as the R1 extras do look nice but the AV quality is of the most importance (I'm sure we can all agree), next comes extras. Besides at the end of the day it's not like the UK R2 is bare-bones.
I'm just pleased I have the lovely R4 LE Tin!
p.s - How dumb of Sony NOT to include the Remastered Cantonese DD5.1.
Hello Bradavon and others:
Yes, despite an excellent video quality the final test on the R1 proves that Sony did indeed drop the ball a bit. With this said teh only version I am yet to see is the double Australian set...

You can still pick up the R4 one disc which will give you an idea of the AV + Commentary.
Madman have the habit of re-releasing their Limited Editions sans Tin so with any luck they'll do the same.

Anyone who missed out on the R4 2-disc LE the first time around can grab it now. 300 units were allocated for NZ retail, it will be released March 15th.
I just pre-ordered (and paid in advance for) my copy.
Here's some sites carrying it:-

GPstore ship overseas, I have no idea if the official Madman NZ store does though.

Nice one Eva it's a gorgeous set.
The only complaint I have is the deleted scenes don't have English subs and only French burnt in subs. I think there is an English subtitle stream but nothing appears.
It's not a big deal just for deleted scenes.
