Oh my God, what a massive piece of shit this film was.

Horribly shot action that was difficult to follow. Horrible pacing, that so didn't need to be 2 1/2 hours long. A plot that went absolutely nowhere and was full of holes and gaping wounds where logic lacked. So many pointless scenes. At least a dozen obnoxious characters. Horrible crude humour.

Oh fuck, the racist negro twin robots. Big ears, buck toothed with gold fillings, lazy, illiterate, stoned all of the time. These two characters were so disgustingly offensive and likely had more screentime than both Optimus Prime and Bumblebee. Fuck you Michael Bay.

As a Jordanian I was a bit confused by how close they made the Egyptian pyramids and the valley of Petra in Jordan appear. As if they were right next to each other and you could walk there in a few minutes.
I know that for entertainment purposes that is an ok thing to do, but I was just personally irritated, because I know the region very well.

And why did they keep Optimus out of almost all the film? I mean "Transformers" is all about Optimus. Same goes for Bumblebee. At one point the soldier says to another one: "You follow Ironhide!" I thought, "What??? Where did he come from?" It was overall confusing and unclear where all the robots were and came from.

As for the two stereotyped robots, dude, would anybody feel so offended? I mean we get to see all kind of stereotyped all the time in movies. Yet, it only makes people shake their heads if black people are offended.

Just like the "Resident Evil 5" debate. Why wasn't anybody offended by part 4 which took place in Spain with mostly Spanish zombies?

I thought you were German LD? Or did you move there later on? You really reckon Part 1 is worth 4.5 out of 5?

This one was made a few years before and stars Jesus Christ himself -- AKA Jim Caviezel as a vengeful husband tracking the looney down across America's highways; Rhona Mitra is the big-boobed damsel-in-distress.

Director Robert Harmon (familiar to this sort of movie from The Hitcher) does a fair job keeping interest.

Despite the high-impact crashes this isn't quite as gruesome as the '18' rating would lead you to expect.

Engrossing drama plays with the real and ficticious identities of Jean-Claude by putting the real actor in fictional circumstances and surrounding him with ficticious characters. What's real? You decide. But I found Van Damme's performance persuasive and there's no doubt he's finally become a damme good actor; watch Bloodsport and then this and see the difference. The film itself is cleverly written and directed, though without Van Damme it would be just another heist movie; he really is the whole show. There's plenty of comment on celebrity, though the satire is rather restrained. This maybe because we're used to seeing satire delivered by Hollywood in a more heavy-handed manner. Self-indulgence alert: The director, an Arab, makes a snide hard-done-by comment about all those films about terrorists in which Arabs are villains. Two points: 1. Arabs are villains so often because they represent the vast majority of the world's terrorists. 2. If you think Arabs in action movies get a bad rap think how many English bad guys there have been... and if they're not actually English characters they're at least played by English actors. A small gripe of mine. Not a classic then, but worth your time, especially if you're a Van Damme fan or you want to see what he can do when given the chance.

Just seen Public Enemies. Aside from the 3 annoying people in front of me, & the 3 annoying people behind me, & the fact that my knee was on fire, I really enjoyed it. Can't wait for the BD...

I also shake my head at the likes of Mickey Rooney in Breakfast at Tiffany's and the gay stereotypes in most Hollywood comedies. I don't rag on you for your generally backward views of women (i.e. they're only happy at home serving men and raising a family), I expect the same courtesy from others.

Gran Torino BD 3.5/5

Enjoyed this more 2nd time around though it's still let down a little bit by some weak acting in the support roles. amazing to watch Eastwood managing to own the screen with his presence at 78 years of age

Underworld Evolution BD 3/5

Solid sequel is action packed and entertaining throughout. like the first one though it's hampered by another leaden performance from co-star Scott Speedman,as woden a leading man as i've seen in recent years.well worth seeing.

Zombi (aka Zombie Flesheaters) 3/5

Genre classic has no logic but is still gloriously daft entertainment, zombie vs shark anyone? gory,fast moving with a superb soundtrack.

Zombi 2 is technically a piece of shit though I can see the cult bad movie appeal.

it's a great movie,certainly has more rewatch value than some overpraised rubbish i've seen over the years

Obviously it's not 'a great movie' in technical terms or anything like. I doubt even the late Lucio Fulci would try to fly that one. It may well be great in a 'so bad it's good' sort of way but that's it.

Underworld:Rise Of The Lycans BD 3/5

3rd in the series arrives in the form of a prequel and barring a short cameo series star Kate Beckinsale. Suffers a little from large parts of the story already having been told via flashback in the earlier instalments.still it delivers on the action front and Michael Sheen is very good as Lucian.

Kung Fu Panda (so far): 4/5

I really enjoyed this While it's not uproariously funny, the film actually works better for its abandonment of pop culture references instead relying on goofy slapstick, also the storyline actually works pretty well as a "normal" kung fu flick. The animation (love the anime opening) and some of the music is excellent.
I say so far because my copy has skipped towards the end so I'm getting a new one.

pretty entertaining hokum that never takes itself too seriously,some of the cgi effects look a little dated now. The BD has a solid transfer.

Pretty bad but so ridiculous and hokey you find yourself warming to the sheer stupidity of it. Eric Roberts in the Han role has to be worth an extra star

Kung Fu Panda is pretty good, i have the BD. Grim you should've got the region 1 SE, it has a prequel movie that i don't think got released in the uk- this one
