The Rape After 3/5

Not an actual good film but as a genre excursion, Tom Lau's only film as director works fine. Centering the film around Melvin Wong, the asshole "hero" of the film, much is confusing initially but soon it's apparent Lau mixes the likes of The Exorcist, Alien and any Living Dead film. In a way also, it's a mimic of Hong Kong's own Devil Fetus. At times laughable but the effects and atmosphere ranks as quite eerie from time to time. And even if it wasn't, I unashamedly like it when Hong Kong attempts gue and gore. Teresa Ha Ping and Wong Yat-fei also appears briefly.

Cue Mark's obligatory "this movie ass sucked!".

I've noticed a few times in Lone Wolf + Cub, Ogami Itto is called "Sir Ogami" and a few other characters are called "Sir" - why is this? Were samurai often called "Sir" out of respect?

BTW, I loved the ending of LW+C 4 (Babycart in Peril) It shows Ogami is not invincible, there's finally something that can harm him, but he soldiers on

Its' difficult to catch what they actually say as the Japanese spoken in the film is very old, but its always translated in the subs as "Sir" then whatever the person's name is.

Not designed to be as spoof-heavy as the more widely seen sequel but director Alfred Cheung instead balances slight ventures into that with a more sweet aura to pleasing effect. The likes of Sammo, Ken Lo and Francis Ng put in appearances.

Lost Season 2 - Episodes 1 and 2 - 5/5

Absolutely fantastic - bloody gripping stuff! 8)

BTW my "theory" is that everyone is at purgatory (halfway between heaven and hell). Look at all the religious imagery in the show, and what about the "miracles"? (In various episodes Locke walks again, Jack cures his wife of paralysis in this double bill).

I'm pretty sure they're not between heaven and hell as many things that we thought were supernatural were explained later. If it turns out though that you're right with your theory then I'd have to say that the story's development is very weak. We'll wait and see.

Probably the "heaven and hell" theory has already been discounted. The writers arent revealing anything.
The ultimate cop out would be if it was all a dream/inside someone's head (I dont think it will be). The religious imagery and religion v science stuff (with Jack in one corner and Locke in the other) must mean something. Chloe's baby is called Aaron - Aaron was the elder brother of Moses etc.

Chloe? You mean Claire.

Inside Man

Good movie, with a great and charismatic "baddie" Clive Owen.
Besides some too unrealistic things f.e.: Man hiding in a room no one knows behind a thin wall - and no one finds him... I couldn´t find much I didn´t like.

Yeah you'd think someone would've complained about the smell, hear him snore etc.

Yeah, some people are really loud when they´re sleeping.

beside that the police were looking everywhere if something was stolen... they would have also checked that shelf and then surprise... surprise, they would have seen that there is something wrong with the wall ...

But as I said, I absolutly liked "Inside Man". There should be more recent movies like this one.[/spoiler]
