No it doesn't.
I'm not trying to say anything, am I the only one whose actually looked at a slot loader? You slot them in side-ways not face up, face down or flat to the unit. As in "a slot".
So if the slot is on the front it would have to be the thickness of the disc (and therefore making the Player much thicker), whereas on the side it's perfectly fine as the width of the the player will be more more than the disc width anyway. It's basic science, have a think about it Shing.

You've completely misunderstood what I was talking about. Allow me to demonstrate with a simple diagram:
The end result is the same regardless of which direction you're inserting the disc from.

That would look so ugly, slot loader is much nicer.
Didn't you say specifically it was a slot loader? That's why I went on about it. I cannot find your original post.

Have I been talking in Spanish this whole time? How the hell are you STILL misunderstanding me?
One last time and I give up:
The arrow on the right indicates how you load a BD into the player, the slot is on the side which means if you want this player but need to place it in a cabinet you probably won't have the room round the side to load the discs in. I'm saying it would have made more sense to put the slot in the other orientation (either one of the arrows top and bottom in that image), so not only would it remain wall mountable, but it would be operable in a tight cabinet as well.
Ignore the disc in that image, that's just me showing where the disc is played from once you shove it through the slot, ie: the same place whether you use a slot at the side or at the front/back (top/bottom in that image). At the end of the day whether the disc loading mechanism is a slot or tray means nothing, both designs would have worked on a wall mounted player.

I'm not misunderstanding you. Your picture explains it's perfectly. As you're not understanding me, I shall explain again. I'm sure you "originally" said slot loader, whereas your picture shows it's clearly not that, hence all the confusion.

Brad you are without a doubt the most infuriating idiot on the planet, yes as I said right at the start the player is a slot loader with the slot placed across the right hand edge of the player (as indicated by the arrow on the right in my image). The BD you see in my image was superimposed there by me to show whereabout INSIDE THE PLAYER the disc is played once it is pushed through the slot in the side.
Oh, and seeing as you seem to be completely unable to spot my "original post" on this matter (despite it being the first post at the top of the last page, clear as day) here's the original quote:
Shingster wrote:They didn't have any S350 models in anyway when I popped round Currys/PC World earlier. I spotted one of those
Samsung BD-P4600 players on the shelves and I'm not impressed by the design of that at all, I know the point of it that you wall mount it, but why the hell did they put the disc slot on the side and not the front? Has the designer never seen a TV/Video cabinet before in his life?

All i have for my BD's now is a US PS3 (having sold my uk machine). I'm now looking for a cheap UK machine for the bedroom, any recommendations?

Get over myself? You're the one who keeps trolling threads by making contrary statements about comments that were accurate to begin with! Why can't you just keep your trap shut on topics that you not only know absolutely nothing about, but also cannot comprehend what is being discussed? Perhaps because it would mean you'd be reduced to making one post a year instead of 200 posts a day.

Regardless of all this waffle. You stated you prefer it to be front loaded and I pointed out that however you do that, it will either make the Player thicker or am now adding look ugly. Side slot loading is the only obvious choice for a slim wall mounter.
I know how a slot loader works, why post such an image? I thought you were showing how a front loading player could work and as such am saying it would look ugly.

I apologise to the regular, sane members of the board about this, but I believe this is the only way to speak to someone who is being so insanely ignorant:

IT WOULD NOT ALTER THE SHAPE OR DESIGN OF THE PLAYER YOU COMPLETE AND UTTER TWONK!
Open your eyes and look at the image again:
The red arrow ON THE RIGHT shows where you PUSH A BD IN THROUGH THE SLOT ON THE SIDE
The red arrows ON THE TOP AND BOTTOM show where you could PUSH A BD IN THROUGH A SLOT
IF IT WERE AT THE FRONT OR BACK* OF THE PLAYER!
(*Obviously this is the Front/Back when the player is in an orthodox BD player orientation, when it's up on a wall then you would say the Top/Bottom)
Please, I implore any member of these boards to end my torment and tell me that what I'm saying in this thread makes sense and it's Bradavon who's being the fool here!!
BACK ON TOPIC: As Mark suggested Grim have you thought about the Tevion at Aldi?

But you don't want a slot loader. You asked it be front loaded, so why keep posting a slot loading image? I imagine your image is how it actually works. I know how a fucking slot loader works, so implying I don't. You reckon I'm not getting it, when you don't get it either. If you did you wouldn't keep repeating yourself.
A front loader would either have to be tray loader (so making the Player thicker) or you open a lid and push it in flat, which would look ugly. How else are they supposed to make a side facing wall mounted Player Shing? Clearly you're so intelligent you've worked out a way to achieve this.
I was happy to drop this but seeing as you're insisting on being so obnoxious, keep implying I don't get something (when clearly you don't get it). I shall continue to argue.

That would be a good choice for a bedroom Player. Have you had any problems with it?

Please explain to me why you cannot have a slot at the front/back of a regular DVD/BD player (it would mean a slot being on the top or bottom edge of that Samsung once it is wall mounted). Slot or Tray mean the same thing as far as the shape and design of a player goes, both require you to push a disc in from either the front, sides, or back.

Back? You're expecting people to lift it off the wall?

I was talking about the Font/Back WHEN IT IS IN A REGULAR DVD PLAYER ORIENTATION, when it is wall mounted the front and back becomes the top & bottom (and the top and bottom of the player when it is lying on the floor becomes the front and back when it is on the wall). How many times have I made this abudantly clear now? 5? 6? I lose count.
bradavon wrote:I already have. Many, many times.
I am talking about a regular player R-E-G-U-L-A-R. Where is the slot on a PS3? THE FRONT, where is the Disc Tray on your BD player? THE FRONT. When that Samsung is wall mounted the top of the player becomes its front, and the bottom of the player is the back that goes up against the wall. I have not once in this thread mentioned putting the slot on the top of the player where the time display is (its front when it is wall mounted).

No real problems with the Tevion so far.
Once the eject button wouldn't work so I had to switch the player off and on again but then it worked. Nothing major.

But it's not a regular Player. What a dumb thing to say.
Shingster wrote:when it is wall mounted the front and back becomes the top & bottom
No it doesn't, not really anyway. It's clearly designed to only be held on the wall only and not used on the floor.
Shingster wrote:How many times have I made this abudantly clear now? 5? 6? I lose count.
Never. I could throw that comment back at you, clearly you're not getting it too.
Shingster wrote:I am talking about a regular player R-E-G-U-L-A-R.
Why fucking do that? It's not a regular player. It's like me moaning a car cannot fly, it's not a fucking plane. Oh and thanks for saying that now!
Shingster wrote:Where is the slot on a PS3? THE FRONT, where is the Disc Tray on your BD player? THE FRONT.
They're not Wall Mounters! Christ you're thick as shit. The PS3 is designed to be laid flat on the floor and not on the wall, so clearly has plenty of room. Whereas the Samsung is "very clearly" designed to be laid flat against the wall, so the width of the disc would go against this idea.
It's really simple. I fail to see why you cannot work it out.

Have you tried Profile 2.0 yet? How long does it take to load discs?

Haven't tried Profile 2.0. I won't be using the internet with the player.
Discs take about 20 secs to load. I haven't timed them to be exact as such but it seemed reasonable to me.

That's about average for BD, they're all much more than DVD. Considering it's cost, it sounds like a decent player. Especially as it's Profile 2.0 and handles DTS-HD MA/TrueHD over HDMI Bitstream. Making it future proof too.

Sigh, that was what my original point was about!

(Hate that smiley BTW, too aggressive, but it does perfectly express what trying to have an intelligent, reasoned conversation with you is like).
By putting the slot in a different place it would have worked BOTH as a concept player (wall mounted) and a regular TV/Video cabinet player! There will be members of the BD buying populace who may particularly want this specific player as it offers a number of nifty exclusive features, but for reasons of circumstance and space may not be able to slap it up on a wall right away, and need to keep it in a TV/Video cabinet. Those people could very well be fucked by the slot on the side of the machine.
bradavon wrote:Christ you're thick as shit.
Sigh, yes! I'm the idiot and you're the genius! Funny how you can count on the fingers of one hand the number of times any of the other members of these boards have referred to me as "thick", yet what about you? Maybe if the average human had 100 fingers!

I seriously doubt that given it's cost compared with other BD Players. What nifty feature? That it plays BDs maybe.
