It's perfectly fine IMO.
EvaUnit02 wrote:Seriously, who gives a flying fuck? Underworld sucks, no alternative cut in the world could make an Underworld film suck any less.
I give a fuck. I like the Underworld films, as guilty pleasures.

Great combo player then it seems. Your son gets a new games console and you get both HD-DVD/BD without having two standalone players. Perfect!
It seems I'll be waiting even longer as LG have royaly stuffed their Combo player up.

Done. It's not a title I'm interested in though. Which documentaries are on Combos?

Dunno, you can find em on Pacific. It looked like the type of crap they show at an IMAX though.
There's also a combo of Digital Video Essentials. It looks to be exactly the same as the SD version, except there's tests to calibrate the HD audio formats ie Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD, etc.

Thanks, oh those sort. I won't even look then. I thought you meant proper documentaries.

Those are overkill IMO and a waste of cash.

Updated with lists of region free BDs. Might be a good idea to make this thread sticky, eh Brad?

Question; why did you list lindsites IP address instead of the proper address? (
http://bluray.lindsite.dk/)

That's what google threw up when I searched for BR multiregion lists.

There is also a Hot Fuzz DVD Combo coming in The States, some comments over at DVD Active say the HD-DVD side will be getting all the UK extras too.

I looked on the back of the case of X-Men: The Last Stand (Blu-ray), and it said the runtime is 99 minutes. That is the PAL running time (The American one says 104 minutes). Does anyone here own this? I was tempted to buy it because it should look good in HD, but no way am I getting it if it has PAL speed-up or something.

PAL/NTSC speedup doesn't exist on hd as far as i'm aware.i have the american disc.by the way it's not one of the more spectacular blu-ray discs, which surprised me.better than the sd but not greatly.

There's no video speed up but some Studio Canal HD-DVD's have speeded up audio because the French are lazy sods.

Yeah, I'm guessing that it's a mistake then.

The DVDtimes reviewer (one of the MacKenzie brothers, I think) seems convinced that ALL of the Studio Canal releases thus far have had the wrongly pitched audio.

Considering the price of HD X-Men 3 isn't one I'd upgrade any time soon. It would certainly have to be under a tenner before I was interested in it.

I wasn't very impressed when I saw it at the cinema, but I thought it might be one worth buying for my new HD setup.

You don't have to buy average movies just because they're cheap and/or you don't have to use average movies as demo discs. There's plenty of AAA grade films on both HD optical formats at this point.
