i wasn't aware of a usa Rambo Quadrilogy BD Release. i have the usa set containing the first 3 films with the usa Rambo 4 separate.

You may be right Sam - I assumed there was a US BD with all 4 films because there's a UK set (I think).

The US Rambo BD set only has three films - I know because I got it cheap a while back on an Amazon.com sale. You have to buy Part 4 seperately.

Are you talking modded for Multiregion DVD playback only? As Brad says you might find some companies like Richer Sounds or Superfi who may offer this. In the Sony's case you can easily make it multiregion for DVD by using a One For All universal remote. I'd be happy to lend you mine if you did opt for the Sony and didn't have your own access to a One For All.

Thanks Shing yes thats what I meant, MR for DVD only I don't think I could afford one that was Multiregion for BD as well.

If you do get the Sony 350, it's a good idea to borrow Shing's All-For-One remote. As I understand you need more expensive £20-30 version of it. I wonder if it also works with the 360, probably.

Apparently Currys/PCWorld are selling off their display models of the S350 instore for £50 now. Have you got one near you Grim? If you'd be interested at that price for the ex-display or any price for a new model from the £99 pricepoint below (some people have reported seeing it for £80), I could pop round my local Currys/PC world tomorrow (right next to each other and the Currys near me is the biggest in the UK). It'd probably cost me somewhere around £5-£10 to post the player on to you (I could also make it Multregion for DVD before sending it on).

Nah you don't need an ultra expensive one, the remote I used can be had for less than £10 online but I got a 2nd hand one for £3 off E-bay at the time! Lending one's still better than buying mind as you're only gonna use it once!

i've got a one for all available for loan as well.the Sony is a fabulous player,a bargain at £100 so if it could be had for less that's an amazing buy.

I'm not sure if theres a PC World near me - there used to be a Dixons but it shut.

Once you input the code (it's a bit long winded) it's MR for DVD permanently and you don't need the oneforall remote again.

Grim, don't hold back (like you usually do ), take Shing up on his offer. Presuming they have the usual 1 year warranty and all accessories, who cares if it's ex-display? Do it!

It's not saying I can get a £50 ex display model though, I'd imagine there's only one going per shop! I'm off round that area at 10am tomorrow Grim so let me know by then if you want me to pick you up one if they have it at £50 OR if failing that you want me to get a new model at £99 if they have one in stock.

Only one BIG thing for me I need, a silent player! as the PS3 is like a wind turbine and a few other Blu Ray players I have heard are just as bad with the noise, most people wont care too much, but I have to be nearish my player sadly.

My S350 is quiet during film playback, can be noisy during the Menus or when first booted up though (but even when the fans are at full blast never gets as loud as my m8s' PS3s). This is an important issue with me as well romero, and I have no complaints from my s350, it's quieter than my old Sony DVD player.

Thats good to know I assumed most would be beasts with fans whirring after the 3 or 4 I have sat and watched films on in friends homes, still nothing beats the PS3 for noise never stick it in a cabinet it goes mental and is like a hoover.

Romero, yet more nonsense coming out of you. The PS3 is near-silent when playing a Blu-ray, if you want to hear noisy try playing on an Xbox 360...

Perhaps yours is loud as a turbine because you're not giving it adequate ventilation, mine's quite happy.

Can't say my usa ps3 has ever been noisy.it's always been pretty quiet in operation for me.

I have had 2 PS3's (both more than well ventilated, not even in a cabinet), there is another in our house and played on many friends, they are all louder than any other player I have ever owned in my life by a mile, and that lots of dvd players from many different makers.

Cannot campare it to an X Box never even played one, but seen the hilarious vids on Youtube about that sucker, but even a PS3 beats that when its stuck in a cabinet (mine was in one for an hour, it's scary!)
Still even my HD DVD player is silent in compairson to my PS3.

Players with fans on instantly make far more noise than any dvd player I have owned or seen, PS3 has a fan, small and it is nowhere near silent (maybe if you are far away from it yes, but I have to sit about 4 foot away from a PS3, it irritates me no end as it cannot even go in my cabinet!! argghh!). Still even my PS3 is silent compared to my PC which I tried and failed to make silent :bounce:

But compared to everything else I own and have owned the PS3 is a monster by comparison, still it does not make too much heat so that little fan does a good job, well compared to an Amp

In the end it depends on what you are used to, I like silent to mean just that and a fan on pretty much anything makes an irrataing little whiring noise that does my noggin in, if it dont bother anyone else then think yourself lucky your ears dont pick it up like me still small thing bug me like that.

My BD Player is quiet too but then compared to my PVR and HDD/DVD Recorder anything is. They have hard disks in them though.

I dont mind a good old hard drive doing it's thing its them fans, the evil little fans

My first two PVRs had fans, boy they were loud.

Especially one of them (which will you believe), by design even stayed on during standby. I didn't know this until I bought it, it lasted about 3 days before it went on eBay. I'd bought it new but couldn't sent it back as it was by design. Impossible to sleep with. I had to switch it off at the wall.

Thankfully my Humax PVR does not.

I have to switch everything off at night, even the tiny little hum bugs me in stand by so imagine what one of your players would do to me haha with all these powerful things comes way to much heat sadly, we may be getting better more powerful and smaller things, but heat wise it is a pain to keep em cool.
