Point taken.
Well duh Brad, if you had done it in a recent review you would have recieved a black book for it and would now be banned! I think the last time you did this was around the 29th sept as that is the last post on the DVDtimes staff forum about you making posts telling people to buy elsewhere. Dave quickly deleted your comments. This was only 3 months ago.bradavon wrote:Show me a recent review where I've done that? That's an old point.
All the way down to chinatown?tom2681 wrote:And if you two don't stop fighting, I'm gonna take you both somewhere else.
Obviously that's nae gonna happen. Times may not seem to mind but I know that sponsored reviews are frowned upon on some sites for the reasons you just mentioned. It's less problematic to simply source discs from distributors as opposed to retailers.Shingster wrote:As per my original request, please post an example of another review site where their DVDs are supplied by a known affiliate and right there in the talkback thread is someone going "you can buy the title here for cheaper instead" and the site not giving 2 figs about this.

Exactly THREE months ago, talk about petty.Shingster wrote:I think the last time you did this was around the 29th sept as that is the last post on the DVDtimes staff forum about you making posts telling people to buy elsewhere. Dave quickly deleted your comments. This was only 3 months ago.
Well if you put it that way of course I can't (which incidentally I thought your point was directed at Lourdes) but I can name you sites who don't get their knickers in a twist when someone does it.Shingster wrote:So the ball's in your court now Brad. I have only one. It resulted in being banned for a week. I posted a link to Dramatica article (see the thread on Stephen Frears' "The Queen"). Fully justified though.bradavon wrote:I'm sure I'm not the only one with DVD Times/Forums black books here?

That is an outright lie, what the fuck do you know about how DVDtimes is run? It is NOT run as a business, the site doesn't generate anywhere near enough profit for that.bradavon wrote:Which comes back to Lourdes point that DVD Times/Forums are a business and they think about the cash rolling in before anything else. Colin does have a grudge against me and other members. I can't say anything without my head being bitten off.
Actually, it's much less problematic to go with etailers these days. The big studios are getting worse and worse for providing reviewable DVDs. I also find your criticism of DVDtimes review sponsers scheme hypocritical when you admit that you only visit DVDtimes to read the r2j DVDs I usually cover - which wouldn't be possible without such a scheme!Bisclimpkit wrote:Obviously that's nae gonna happen. I try and avoid that sitetom2681 wrote:http://www.encyclopediadramatica.com/
Is this because the distributors basically give you the dvd but it has some watermarks. I can remember Serenity being like this on DVDActive and the extras are not placed on.Shingster wrote:Actually, it's much less problematic to go with etailers these days. I'm sorry Brad, but that is simply not good enough, you have posted slanderous remarks about how DVDtimes is run as a website. You should either back those comments up with evidence or admit for once in your life that you haven't got a clue what you are talking about.bradavon wrote:We'll agree to disagree for now Shingster. I've said my piece, you've said yours. I don't entirely agree with you, you don't me.
Not at all romero, you're absolute right here. I think you have made by far the most intelligent and reasonable post so far in this thread.romerojpg wrote:Thats not a dig by the way, just you cannot win (to put it into a simple word) sometimes no matter what you say

If it's so pointless why are you spending your effort replying?romerojpg wrote:I dont see why this thread has expanded so much, its a pointless debate in the end I think.
I've spent the last 6 pages backing up my comments, whether you choose to believe me or not is up to you. You clearly have a vested interest in the sites which is fine but what I've said is true, even if it's hard to take.Shingster wrote:I'm sorry Brad, but that is simply not good enough, you have posted slanderous remarks about how DVDtimes is run as a website. I'm sorry, where exactly have you backed up your claim that DVDtimes is a profitable business? Where exactly have you posted the income that DVDtimes makes compared to its expenditure to prove that DVDtimes is raking the cash in? Please, give me a post nuber or a quote.bradavon wrote:I've spent the last 6 pages backing up my comments, whether you choose to believe me or not is up to you. Sigh, you're right. Tis the season of goodwill and all that so I'm not going to see in the New Year with by taking part in some pointless internet argument with Brad. Arguing with hium always frustrates me because 90% of the time he's not even aware why someone is challenging his posts in the first place!Shen wrote:now now children. put your dummys back in, get back in your prams and play nice....

I only mention it because Brad said something in a previous post about people reporting him to Colin on the DVDtimes before, and in another the possibility that he could be banned if the mods at times were to read this thread. Personally I hate that sort of thing and would certainly not bring this thread to attention of anyone who doesn't regularly browse the place. Let anyone else associated with DVDtimes find it on their own if they're going to.tom2681 wrote: As far as I know, BnB mods have nothing to hide.![]()
