The Little Girl Who Conquered Time

Post by BiscLimpkit »

I was wanting to watch this anime:

The Girl Who Leapt Through Time

until I realised that it's a sequel to this 1983 live action film:

The Little Girl Who Conquered Time.

Has anyone seen either? If so what are your thoughts? I notice that the latter is part of the Kadokawa series... mmm nice (I'm trying to venture more into older Japanese titles instead of the newer ones).

I was planning on watching the anime, when it was still up at stage6, but they removed it before I had the chance. The anime is getting pretty good reviews, but didnt know it was a sequel or in any other wya related to an already existing movie...

It's not really a sequel Bisc, it's a reworking of the same novel that the 1983 film is based on, they just made the lead character the niece of the novel's (and consequently the 1983 flm) lead character - kinda like a next generation reworking. Oh and the anime is very good, you definitely don't have to have seen the film to appreciate it (as I haven't myself).

Good man Shingster - much appreciated.

I might source the original for kicks tho. It's cheap enough on DDD (I estimate approx £7 or £8 delivered).
