DO NOT move this thread, Brad.

Bad Boys 1&2, The Rock, Pearl Harbor and Armageddon are all Bluray exclusive (at least in the US). The original question poser is an idiot.

Bay may well be right but likewise there is no evidence of this. If anything the number of HD-DVD Players etc... would be to differ.

Okay, no worries. Don't forget to be courteous ;) . People should read all the forums though.

/me grabs a spoon and starts stirring...

Say Brad.... shouldnt this be in Tech!?

:D

Anyway, Michael Bay is an idiot. Many of the american directors seem total idiots. I watched the making off of Superman Returns, and watched Bryan Singer for the first time. What a hyperactive braindead little monkey. Extremely annoying.

A lot of them like Hollywood actors are so up their own backsides. They're all so rich they cannot help themselves.

At least Singer can actually direct. Michael Bay hasn't earned the right to complain. Sure he's made some good action flicks but he's no A-List director.

I don't like Singer's direction, actually. I don't really know what it is I dislike, I just don't think he's very good.

X-men 2 is great fun (it's way better than Spidey 1 and 2) but agreed he is somewhat restrained, he doesn't ever really let go. Superman Returns is also pretty decent, flawed but not half as bad as many made out.

Funnily enough I am going to watch The Usual Suspects again soon. I'll hold judgement on that one until I've seen it again.

Hmmm, can't think of a Michael Bay film I disliked. I never bothered with "Pearl Harbor", but I believe that I actually would dislike that one. Every director fails with a film or two (or even more), but as I said, apart from PH, I enjoyed all Michael Bay films since "Bad Boys". What's there not to like about "Bad Boys". None of his films try to be meaningful or with a deep logic or so. They're just wonderfully entertaining.

But that's not the point of this topic. The thing is... if Microsoft wanted HD to fail, then why even release an HD-DVD drive for their X-Box?

Bay knows how to make an action film that's a given, it doesn't mean he's a great director but agreed Bad Boys is probably his best film.

Bad Boys 2 is way too long though, it should've ended 20 minutes earlier. The end in Latin America is so pointless. It's a pity as literally ever since Bad Boys came out I wanted them to make a sequel, it's a pity they stuffed it up. It's no stinker but it's no action classic either.

His reasoning is that Microsoft wants no clear winner for this HD generation, so it will stall everyone out of choosing a clear winner and going for that, just so Microsoft van perfect their downloadable crap and grab the market in that area. If Microsoft didnt support HDDVD, BluRay would be the big winner and everyone would go for Sony's HD format, which would make Sony the big winner.

That's Bay's thinking, not mine. :)

Personally, I'm not into HD yet. But when I am, I dont want downloads, but I wanna buy an actual (affordable) disc that I can call my own. With downloads, you run the risk of it being deleted or your rights for watching it get lost or whatever. So I'd rather have an actual copy.

Microsoft can't even get Windows Media Center to be the norm. in the front room. Downloadable movies, wake up Bill.

The bandwidth needed to supply Movies successfully let alone in HD is years and years off. The percentage of people who buy downloadable music online is nothing compared to those who buy CDs, if you look at it over the world.
