"Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles"
Well, this is coming out tomorrow... well, maybe in two days if there is the usual one day delay, and it's starting to get some decent reviews. Mainly around the 8-out-of-10 range. I've been a fan of the RE series since the first one over ten years ago, but anytime RE mixed with first person shooters, it has gotten anything from mediocre ("Dead Aim") to downright crap-ass ("Survivor") reviews. However, seeing as how this actually deals with the main story, and it sounds like there are a LOT of factors adding to the replayability aspect. Mainly the fact that we see Wesker's "scenario" while Chris and Jill were off running around the mansion. I dunno, maybe it's just the nostalgia factor, but I'm really looking forward to this... anyone else?

Well, I'm only in "Wii-mode" in terms of next gen consoles, but I do plan on getting RE5 when I move on to one of the other systems (most likely PS3). And yeah, I'm one of apparently hundreds/thousands who want an RE4-style "Wiimake" of Resident Evil 2... which has been hinted at as a possibility. Hell, they already have an RE4 variation of Leon's RPD costume.
I know it sounds corny, but I've always been into the Resident Evil story, which is probably one of the big factors in me checking out RE:UC... even though there seem to be some minor retcons in the RE1 story (Chris and Jill together instead of splitting up). Eh, either way, I'll be playing it this weekend!

Story continuity has always been patchy in the RE series. RE1 itself through a spanner into works - Chris and Claire split-up, but they follow EXACTLY THE SAME path.
It's the gameplay that matters to me. Nothing holds a candle to RE4's awesomeness. The crappy camera angles and backward digital controls of old can rot in hell.

As am I, sorry if my original post didn't come across as enthusiastic. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I remember reading that they've already created some RE2 environments for UC.Old Pang Yau wrote: And yeah, I'm one of apparently hundreds/thousands who want an RE4-style "Wiimake" of Resident Evil 2... which has been hinted at as a possibility. Yeah, yet they were mainly for the Resident Evil 3 scenario... but after all, they could easily use them again for an RE2 remake. Guess we can keep those fingers crossed and see what happens...EvaUnit02 wrote:As am I, sorry if my original post didn't come across as enthusiastic.
