Ever heard of google? Or how about wildcards? It appears to have been retitled. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0913968/

We even have a thread about it:-

It has some very good fights but the movie itself is pretty ridiculous...

Agree with Saltysam.
It's fun, but not a classic by any means.

That trailer is no longer online :(

I get the feeling this isn't worth picking up, like SPL is (which I did). Right?

You mean SPL is not worth picking up? I think that SPL is well worth picking up. "Flash Point" is a good film, too.

The opposite. SPL is worth picking up, this isn't, right?

I say "Flash Point" is absolutely worth picking up for the action scenes. It's not expensive anyway and you get the best fight and action scenes in recent HK cinema.

But SPL is a better all round package? Thanks btw.

I hear "Dragon Tiger Gate" is pretty ropey. I've only picked up SPL of the three, which I hear is the best. Has anyone seen? "The Huadu Chronicles: Blade of the Rose" I just wondered as it's another recent Donnie Yen film.

I think I may wait for a Western label to pick up Flashpoint like they did SPL.

That would be "Twins Effect 2" and apart from Tom, no one else on this planet enjoyed this film. And yes, even though there is a showdown between Jackie Chan and Donnie Yen. The film is poop and because it is recent (from 2004) doesn't make it anywhere as good as the films Donnie Yen has made with Wilson Yip.

Anyway, if you are wondering what "Dragon Tiger Gate" is like you might want to read my review:

Oh yes :D . I'll pass on that one then.

Thanks for the review I'll take a look.

Dragon Tiger Gate is worth a watch, but I wouldn't rush out to buy it. Flash Point is decent, but not as good as SPL. It's your standard undercover cop/Donnie Yen supercop vs bad guys. SPL is the best of the recent Wilson Yip directed movies.

Me too, I'm thinking that it will be very likely as Donnie Yen seems to have a bit of a pull when it comes to Western audiences. There seems to be 2 versions of the DVD out in HK (same with Invisible Target). I didn't check what was actually different between the discs in the form of extras etc, I was just assuming and probably wrongly that it was due to packaging. Both films seemed to have a slightly bigger cardboard box for the more expensive version.

What's the kung-fu in Dragon Tiger Gate like? I heard the story is from a comic so is it like Storm Riders, all magical with wires and stuff or a bit more robust with some impact. It's hard to appreciate martial art films when there is no impact in the hits and the actors fighting are pretty boy/pop stars who haven't been in the grind.

Just read lostdragon's review, well it's got Yuen Wah in it, which is a plus. Does he get his hands' dirty?

I think the 2 discs are the same and it's just different packaging.

UK R2 Two Disc SE:

It looks good. I'd probably opt for the HK R3 with it's Full-rate DTS though, despite no English subtitled extras.

I forgot the R1 will be from Dragon Dynasty. It's bound to be the one to beat.

I'd get the BD now though.

The R1 DVD has commentary by Donnie Yen and tons of interviews. The R2UK seems to match up exactly with the R0HK dvd set. Minus DTS of course.
