That's what I did too.

Now if only they'd put Wheels on Meals and Dragons Forever up .....
Dragons Forever isn't out until end of June so it'll be a few weeks yet perhaps before Wow add it to their site. And Wheels on Meals has been put back until September, so considerably longer for that.
This is missing the DTS on the HK set though (as Brad tells me).
It has different extras from the R1 or HK LE also. There seems to be stacks of documentaries out there for Alexander.
Bar the packaging it doesn't look any different to the R1 really. I'm keeping my HK LE the DTS is great and like BHD I'd prefer DTS over the commentary.
The different documentaries cancel each other out IMO. If the DC turns out to be a better film then I may buy that also or buy it along side my HK LE TC.

Ehm... sorry to bust OFF TOPIC here, but the new Director's Cut of Alexander is NOT an Extended Cut. It's a... Shortened Cut! That's right... It's shorter by about 10-15 minutes if my memory serves me right...
Of course, that's not to say it doesn't include a lot of new scenes, but to call it an Extended Edition is wrong
Is the R4 version of Ong Bak the best one to get then? I have a feeling I'm going to own 3 different versions of this film...
I already have the Edko release with no subtitles, I have the Premier Asia version on pre-order which I will keep on order for the extras and overall quality of the discs that HKL / PA always manage, and I think the R4 is the one with 2 different edits of the film, right?

Yes, I think so. The R4 has the Besson cut + DC and extras, the PA has its own unique extras and will have the DC (I think) BUT it will probably have a different score (PA re-scored it).
* Why don't you sell the Edko? It's going to be pretty useless (bar possibly DTS not enough reason for me to keep it)
* There is no guarantee the extras will be different on the PA DVD but you're right I'd be surprised if the PA DVD isn't the best AV wise. I completely agree. PA and HKL on the whole (always for PA) create outstanding looking and sounding DVDs.
* No offence but I've made it very clear what cuts the R4 has. Why do you need to ask again?
Grim we don't even know the spec. of the PA DVD yet it may have exactly the same extras. It's possible they will create their own but they haven't (I think) for the other PA DVDs as oodles have been available to them.
Personally I don't see the point owning any other version than the R4 unless you specifically like the new PA score as many seem to.

Sorry, I never read that thread so I missed the information. I'm not sure about selling the Edko DVD, because I don't think that it will hold much value to anyone on E-Bay because it has no subtitles...
I will be getting both the PA and the R4 versions...
