Inglorious Bastards (Tarantino) on DVD - WTF?

Post by grim_tales »

When I saw this I thought this was a boot - has it bypassed the cinema?

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Inglorious-Bast ... 83&sr=1-16

I'd never heard this had a DVD yet.

You never use the imdb or something grim? :P

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0076584/

Tarantino got his inspiration from the 1978 film.

Except for Jackie Brown which QT didn't write all of QTs work is copied from somewhere. Aren't part of Pulp Fiction lifted too?

Personally I don't mind as he always puts his own magic into them too.

Grim probably thought Enzo G. Castellari (which amazon states as the director) is Tarantino's Italian name :D

It's a good movie btw.

EDIT: anyone know if these Another World discs are conversions? Too lazy to find out since they haven't released anything I want (some interesting movies, but always the wrong language. I'm surprised IB has italian audio even...)

Those residential rocks in St. Albans must be pretty big.

There's some wonderful dialogue in IB. One conversation goes something like (sorry, it's been some time since I saw it):

(guys come running from the river)
- There's beautiful naked women down there!
- What are they doing?
- Shooting at us!

(yeah, that was only added to the post because "" felt like (worse) spamming)

Tarantino has been working on the script of his IG remake since before Kill Bill. It keeps getting put on hold for other (and probably more interesting) projects, like aforementioned Kill Bill.

At least two things have been preventing IB from going into production:
1) The scrip is enormous, way more material than can be fitted into one movie
2) Tarantino is afraid of the project because of the huge scale. That's why he made Death Proof, and may still do some other "small films" first.

Just like Kill Bill then, because that had enough material to fill two films didn't it.
