You wont get any bargains from me ever
I am out to make cash, so the starting prices are set to make cash from the word go. I will never have them low priced ever, as I want to make cash, not loose it like other sellers who think they may go up in price.

How come you'll never give us your E-Bay account name? I too am interested to see what you are selling, how you're selling it, and how much you're making...

Most of my DVDs sell for very little. I'd like to see the way you sell them because you must be a genious or something. DVDs don't go for much for any sellers that I've seen. You must know all the secrets.

Go on, give us your username so we can look you up...

i get fuck all for my dvds now, on most the dvd sells for 50p & £2 postage.i was shocked last night to get £4.00 for Sleepy Hollow Region 1 and £15 for a german dvd of the Burning. Why is Romero reluctant to let us look at his brilliant marketing strategies on ebay,i don't care who looks at mine,it's tripleirons2005 8)

I think he's reluctant because he's actually talking b*****ks & over-exaggerating as per usual! :P

Most of the time, my DVDs sell for the 99p starting bid plus £1.50 postage. Occasionally I get 2 bidders battling for a certain DVD but even then, the price will rarely go above £4.

I remember romerojpg once saying that he sets his starting price at the price he wants to get for the DVD, lets say £8. Well, if I did this with all my DVDs they would be re-listed forever & a day because they just don't sell at those prices!

Come on romerojpg, show us your secret!

What gives you that idea IM? :D

Mine sell for either 99p-£1.50 if they win by bidding or £2.50 if they Buy-it-Now (which most do) and £2 postage. Occasionally too they go for £4.

When my Dad sells DVDs he's the same but he sells his for £2 Buy-It-Now and £2.50 postage. You can definitely bump the postage price up a bit more than £1.50 IM.

Box sets and rarer titles about £8-10. You make money on DVDs by selling loads. I made about £60-70 a few weeks back but I did sell flipping loads of DVDs over a 2 week period, it got a right pain near the end. Especially the knobs who send me a cheque.

If Romero does that I doubt he sells anything as it puts people right off from getting into a bidding war. I also remember Romero once saying he didn't accept PayPal (as it costs too much), if that's still the case I seriously doubt many people take a second look.

For all of them or just any of them? Because depending on what kind of woman gives you "fuck", I'd probably even give some limited editions. :D

No Bollocks at all, just not into sharing ebay name for many reasons after some problems on another forum a while back. Its fine here I guess.

http://feedback.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI ... 22&item=-1

At the moment I am only selling special dvds I know will sell well or for more than I paid, I have hundreds to stick up, but it takes too long the way I sell them with loads of pictures and info etc.. it takes me maybe 30+ minutes to list bigger sets, but it pays off and they sell for more than someone who lists just a picture and the name on Ebay for instance.

I have rarley sold normal dvds, ones that I would only get a few quid for (A Scanner Darkley is a test, its not working, hence I wont be sticking more cheapos on). I sell them other places, as do I sell most my stuff on forums etc.. Ebay is a fraction of what I have sold over the years. As to be honest I made more off forums and other places (No rip off fees).

Ebay I have only ever used to offload very expensive sets like I robot and Aliens Heads, which I made a lot from as I was the first person on Ebay wih them (pre sold, which is agaisnt the rules). One went for £320, others less but in the end its good when it goes right. It also goes wrong a lot, hence not selling too many on Ebay the last year.

I never said I didnt accept Paypal brad, I just hate using it with a vengeance, but latley I have had to give in as many people dont buy them now and Ebay is changing soon to only Palyal. Which is insane if that rules goes thru! that way they get about 9% of all cash! (if I work that out right?)

Sadly at the moment I am having troubles with Ebay hence not many dvds up at the moment, buyers not paying, and today a parcel lost worth about 120 quid! great.

I wanted to sell about 100 in 2 months, its not going as well as I planned thanks to idiots on Ebay. I state rules on my listings, they ignore them all and buy anyway, way to go.

I'm stripping my collection down big time at the moment.

Every goes straight on my trade list here and at the ADVDG.

Anything that doesn't sell goes to the 2nd hand shop.

Not looking to make a killing as I don't have any rarities that I know of.

But take a look as I may have something you buggers want.

Fair play Romero there some impressive listings. Still they are mostly rare titles so will mostly sell themselves.

Try and sell a normal DVD and get at least a tenner for it? :D I see you made a loss on Serenity R4 though :D

Oh you so did but I didn't expect you to remember. You thought we were nuts for using PayPal and even said you'd never accept it.

I tend to use Buy-it-Now a lot as it's nice and easy, even if some I don't get as much for if I could.

RE ebay and 2nd hand dvds

If you are only getting a few quid for your "normal" dvds on ebay, then isn't less hassle to just sell them on the classifieds?

Normal dvds still sell at about £2-3 on the likes of dvd and avforums, so I'd thought it'd be easier and less time consuming on there.

As romero says, ebay is probably better for LEs and rare stuff. I don't bother with ebay (can't be arsed when I hear about the knobheads on there), but I would only consider selling valuable dvd editions on there.

I take it that you haven't heard of Rule 34?

Generally accepted internet rule that states that pornography or sexually related material exists for any conceivable subject.

Additionally it is accepted that the rule itself has limitations and you cannot be too specific on the content of the item in question.

Most commonly used on various message boards for various reasons, from humor to cruelty.

I invoke rule 34 on the Rescue Rangers. What have I done.

No one can sell standard dvds fro much now, sadly the bottom of the market has collapsed and its just scary how little some go for now. Thats why trading is the better option for them I find, someone always wants to swap their crap films for yours :D

Serenity I do not count as a loss in a way, as I got the Limited Tin version for £17, took out the dvds and sold them, kept the tin and will flog that for a bit by itself later (seen it go for £10 by itself I really hope I get that, even half that) and bought the HD DVD for £9 :D bobs my uncle.

Paypal, beleve me I never said I would never use it for Ebay, as I have used it since day one when I joined Ebay 4 years ago. Only used it very, very rarley for overseas sales as there is no other way really and never even stated in my listings that I sold overseas, I did not do that until recently now I am regretting selling them all to the world, too many problems with post in many areas.

No wonder I only used it maybe 5 times in the first 2 years.

Now I use it all the time :( cannot stand it to be honest, they have took about 60 quid from me in fees over the last 2 months. If only Bank Transfers were free overseas.

Blood Diamond (blu-ray) 2.5/5

i found this movie to be decent but extremely overrated.Leonardo Di Caprio plays a mercenary diamond smuggler who teams up with an african fisherman to try and retrieve a priceless diamond the fisherman has hidden. the actor playing Solomon, the fisherman was a revelation but i wasn't too impressed with Dicaprio's south african accent.about 20 minutes too long, the movie has jennifer connelly in the lead female role, always a good thing :) not the best blu-ray transfer i've seen, i got this in a trade and will be trading it on.

I'm pretty sure I read a comment from someone from South Africa who said it was very authentic.
