Crank usa won't play in a uk machine.Seems fox are the main enforcers of region coding though lionsgate do as well,i hear Basic Instinct is region A locked.doesn't make sense to region lock catalogue titles imo.

Yes. Bastards.
Face/Off is way better than Leathal Weapon
The power of Christ compels you...
As for being hammy that's part of it's charm.
I guess that's subjective then because I thought it was just bad acting. Papa's got a brand new bag? Fuck off!
Plot holes? They're talking about swapping faces who gives a shit!
That's such a lazy copout. Even fantasy should make sense.

Do not under-estimate the power of his skullet in that film.

I wouldn't expect anything else from Bradavon tbh. Face is just about the most stupid action film of all time, rescued from utter vacuity by Woo's direction and some fun performances from Cage and Travolta.

Even if I'm wrong about Face/Off it doesn't suddenly mean Lethal Weapon is anything more than good or was that pretty average.

@ Shingster: The exact reasons you're citing Face/Off to be bad are the exact reasons why I say it's good :D

@ Romero: That BD MR link isn't conclusive sadly.

Lethal Weapon is one of the best Hollywood action thrillers ever produced. The sequel is equally great (and perhaps even better?) Parts 3 and 4 are entertaining, but not in the same class. All are better than Face/Off.

I've never heard of Leathal Weapon. Lethal Weapon is a different story though.

I think this is still coming out on Blu-ray in the UK, because it's Buena Vista here as far as I'm aware.

Good point.

Hopefully the Blu-ray "exclusive" extras will be retained.

Crap just as in an older un-cleaned up print etc. with less extras than the new remastered version and it costss a lot:) I have no link, I would guess its on the usual Blu Ray Japanese sellers sites like amazon, has good sound from what I read mind you, but again the new HD DVD may beat that as this new version has had work done on it I would assume.

There is also an Australian version coming to Blu Ray October 3rd :) so while everyones complaining they cannot get Face Of on Blu Ray, if they acctually looked about they could find it is out now and is getting the Paramount 2 dvd version in Ausie :D

I would guess the UK will also get the film on Blu Ray, again like Australia and Japan the rights are different companies so they can release Face Off on Blu Ray.

Cheers Romero.

Why are you assuming the Blu-ray hasn't also been remastered though?
saltysam wrote:wonder if it'll be uncut?
I wonder. Not that I care when I'll be getting the infinitely superior HD-DVD.
