I never bought it either, it's so easy to pirate Xbox1 games. I sure as hell will buy the remake though. I just completed Starbreeze's latest game, The Darkness; that rocks too.

For Christ's sake Eva, stop trying to push the priate route on us! You did that before when I was talking about F.E.A.R.! Some of us like to own the original games. I'm well aware of how to get hold of pirated XBox games but I choose not to! :P

I bought FEAR Gold (that comes with the expansion) in the end.

I had the Chronicles of Riddick for the Xbox, it was indeed good! I may get the PS3 version, I don't think I actually completed the game before I sold my Xbox!

P.S. The Darkness is ace :)

I never bought Ninja Gaiden either. Black was never released over here or in Aussie, I refuse to play censored games. I pirated the original PAL version and patched it to be uncensored.

Death Proof - 3/5
2nd half is alot better than the 1st half, thats for sure. I was just getting annoyed with the filter in the 1st half, QT trying to make it seem that you watching an 70's movie, with the cuts, burns, and movie skipping, thankfully onto the 2nd half, after the useless bit of the black and white sequence, it went a lot better, and started to enjoy it. The car chase at the end was great, and loved Kurt Russell, the 1st accident/death scene was superb. Again QT whats with the feet, I know you have a fetish with it, but come on!!

Now just want to see Planet Terror to see what thats like..

My second favourite scene in the movie :D

I loved that. Many old school exploitation directors had their trademarks, too, so I thought it was perfectly in line with the content / genre.

Bridget Fonda was smoking hot whilst painting her toenails in the first scene of Jackie Brown (that's about all I saw of that film before I turned it off, haven't gone back since).

As long as it's not Kurt Russell's feet!! :?

I'll check out Grindhouse/Death Proof/Whichever on DVD -- but since I have absolutely zero affinity with the grindhouse sub-genre I can't see me taking it to heart. I just hope it's halfway entertaining, and yes, I'm a Kurt Russell fan.

Bad Boys - 4/5

Entertaining, I enjoyed it :D Lawrence and Smith play off each other well, and the comedy of errors where one man "pretends" to be the other is very funny.

"Wesley Snipes, Passenger 57!"

"Ho! What did I say? Did you hear what I said? I heard what I said 'cause I was standing there when I said it" :D

"Now.. put the gun down... and get me a pack of Tropical Fruit Bubbilicious. And some Skittles" :D

hey,

The Story Of My Son 1/5

I'm all for an exteme melodrama but Johnnie To's handling of it lacks interest, in particular from him. It all should've been called "How everything gets completely fucked up and goes to hell in 80 minutes".

Bad Boys is great, it's a shame Bay fucked up BB2.

Speaking of Death Proof it's opening near me at the end of the month and guess who is appearing after the film for a Q&A :D

Jackie Brown is an underrated classic. I love the opening scene with the "Girls with Guns".

I thought he was touring the UK. He's always been a fan of the UK since the Brits took to Reservoir Dogs before the Yanks did.

I didn't realise Death Proof had been released in The States not that I've been following it. So is it Death Proof or the Grindhouse DVD you're getting? It's an interesting idea but I'm pleased we're getting it in two separate films.

Kill Bill together would've been way, way too long.

I guess the "Grindhouse" experiment failed to much in The States for no international run or DVD period. Personally I think it would work best as a double disc set, otherwise most people aren't going to have a clue.

So the DVD is also the Extended Cut?

I wonder when Tarantino will get back to making serious films though? I like Kill Bill but come on it's not in the same league as his first 3 films.

Several Sam Peckinpah films
He really doesn't do it for me, I just end up a bit bored. I like the honest brutality but I have more fun watching the Westerns they show on TV in the afternoons.

Death Proof - 4/5
Tarantino - like Wes Anderson - is another director whose films I can't help but enjoy. He's a complete tit and keeps doing the same things over and over but I still like his movies a great deal. Death Proof pushes it a bit, he goes too far with the faux naturalé dialogue and the way in which they try to make it look like a poor print is just terrible. It's not done at random at all and it doesn't even look real. If he wanted to make a 70's B-Movie he should have used a 70's camera and old stock then deteriorated it outside of an edit-suite. Not to mention that it should have been set in sevenites which wouldn't have made a whole lot of difference really...
I could critique it for pages to be honest. But still it's a really cool film so if you like Tarantino films at all then watch it.

Exactly, that what I thought as well, this really annoyed me, but the fake effect was over in the 2nd half, which was better I think

I've never understood the point of trying to make a film look crap?

In the 70s I doubt they were trying..........
