Where did I say they are losing? I didnt.

I called them Loosers, as in Looooooooooossseeerrrrs :D

As the sad pathetic Blu Ray Boi's are acting like the most inbred morons on most forums, they have been for a long time and after this announcement they have went off the scales of insanity acting like 3 year olds.

The amount of people being banned on multiple forums (nearly ALL Blu Ray fans) is a sign of how much of a bunch of Loosers they are, some forums are even gong down! from the crying like babies these "Film" (ahem) fans are doing.

Get lives, and stop spreading made up rumors I say. You would think its the end of the world the way these little loosers are acting.

Love the film, not the format.

Please stop spreading the "Samsung combo = £375" info. :)
No :D
Samsung have clearly stated that it was inaccurate. The real price will be closer to £800 at best.
They have, that's new to me :( . Still the last I heard the USA version would be $1000 which is still £500, so not to bad.

Link please?
saltysam wrote:i wouldn't say there is exactly 100's of blu-ray players rolling off the production line  ps3 has "blu" them away with it's price :P (sorry couldn't resist)
I meant more the number of manufacturers than the number of players but agreed.

I want people to see my movies in the best formats possible. For them to deny people who have Blu-ray sucks! They were progressive by having two formats. No Transformers 2 for me!

I seriously doubt Bay won't make Transformer 2 he'll just go with another BD happy studio.

Thanks btw. Bay does sound pissed off, that's a good thing. He has decent clout to put an end to this bollocks.

What about Magnolia Entertainment? Or do they fit into one of those categories? They release on both, as far as I'm aware (definitely Blu-ray because I own one).

Magnolia release on both-wow that list of Brad's is surprising to me.i thought blu-ray had a bigger advantage than that.

Fake as in made up by Blu Ray boys? hell its its been confirmed by them as "fact" for a year now, so dont listen to a word they say :D Anyone who beleves a word they say is ignorant, some of them are still saying the Paramount announcement is a stunt made up by HD DVD fans haha classic. Hence why Blu Ray idiots are getting banned all over soo many forums, troll loosers. Hell HD DVD muppets have been agetting on my nerves as well mind you, they are rubbing it in and making them Blu Boys even worse, but at least they aint getting banned for being total idiots I guess.

Some real sites have real info, not made up shit.

Who cares how many companies support a format anyway?
That does not mean anything, it all depends on soooo many things. Sony got a massive head start as soon as they announced PS3 in my eyes, even if they are a bunch of wankers they are still selling loads of Blu Rays.

Honestly who cares anyway :D its bollocks, just buy a format or two and buy some films. Or shut up and dont :D

and I think you will find them Format suporters figures are missing many anyway, I have a few HD DVDs from makers not on that list as well as Magnolia like gasteropod says, they have missed off all the maybe large amounts of other companies around the world for starters :D On that list are the main american companies basically (not even all), no one includes any other overseas HD format makers/distributors.

Theres more than that as well :) they are just the bigger titles it seems.

Resident Evil 1 & 2
Underworld 1 & 2

Got myself Underworld 2 (best HD title I have seen), got the rest on order :D

That list doesnt include the very important PORNO industy dvd makers as well :D which are selling rather well from what I have read HD DVD likes porn, Blu Ray thinks its dirty so wont do it yet :D

Then you go to the other format :D same as people do with Console games.

By the time HD is mainstream, it will all be sorted anyway.

I don't believe it's supposed to be conclusive just a guide.

Probably but that won't happen for at least another 5 years, no way.

By the time HD is mainstream, both formats would have likely been superceded by a next generation format that's big enough to hold 4k HD transfers or the like.

4K = any DVD can be reused as a master. Sounds cool.

Michael Bay likes HD-DVD now:-
Last night at dinner I was having dinner with three Blu-Ray owners, they were pissed about no Transformers Blu-Ray and I drank the kool aid hook line and sinker. So at 1:30 in the morning I posted - nothing good ever comes out of early am posts mind you - I over reacted. I heard where Paramount is coming from and the future of HD and players that will be close to the $200 mark which is the magic number. I like what I heard.

As a director, I'm all about people seeing films in the best quality possible, and I saw and heard firsthand people upset about a corporate decision.
So today I saw 300 on HD, it rocks!

So I think I might be back on to do Transformers 2!

I understand what 4K means, but that equalling any DVD can be reused as a master? What? DVDs are only 720x480 (NTSC) or 720x576 (PAL) so how can they store a 4000x3000 frame?

Even if you stored the information as data rather than video, it wouldn't be possible to fit an entire film's worth of frames on a standard DVD...

I'm confused as to what dvdvision meant by that statement.

What I mean is if in the future, we get a DVD format that can hold data from films telecined in 4K, without any form of image compression, it will be equivalent to the hard data on the hard drive holding the film, thus, any DVD could be used as a back up in case the original data is lost.

4K scanning is said to be equivalent, in terms of information, to a 35mm negative image. It means there's no detail lost. At present, HD hold films in 1K format equivalent. It's good, but regarding 35mm, 4K would mean all DVD is equivalent to the original negative in term of quality.

Of course, we would need TV with four times the current amount of pixel, and players, and discs.

Currently, many HD releases of past movies are actually old 1K high def transferts, and even with the compression and reduction, you can tell the difference when a movie was scanned at 4K instead of 1K.

6K is more the point of diminishing returns. Not that it makes too much of a difference, films shot on 35mm are all telecined, graded and get their special effects at lower resolutions before being printed back out.

You can get 30 minutes of raw footage 4K/24 from a Red One onto a DL BD so capacity really isn't an obstacle, just speed. And the whole problem of needing a 4K display and it'll be forever before they have decent yield rates.
