The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada

Post by EvaUnit02 »

I couldn't find a thread on this, so...

4/5
A finely written Rashomon-esque script by Guillermo Arriaga, this time free from the ponticating that's seen in his collaborations (and increasingly contrived and ego-boosting) with Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu. Has that great raw and no-bullshit direction style typical of films directed by actors, where performances and writing take centre stage.

Tremendous performances from both Tommy-Lee Jones and Barry Pepper.

It's good to hear you liked it. I've yet to watch my DVD.

Got nothing to say about the film that Eva hasn't already, TLJ is fantastic n it and Barry Pepper's cum-face is worth the price of the DVD alone!

I remember when I first encountered Barry Pepper in Spike Lee's "The 25th Hour" I had confused him with the convinced child molester Brian Pepper. I was thinking, "Why would Spike Lee hire a kiddy fiddler? Hollywood is too forgiving." :D

After seeing his rolling-eyes cum-face in Estrada, i'm not so sure he isn't a sexual deviant! :D
