Snow Patrol aren't an indie band, they're as commercial as you can get. They stand on the same shitty ground as Chris Martin and Coldplay. Their songs sound like they were tailored specifically to appear on cheesy American primetime soaps like Grey's Anatomy, Party of Five, Dawson's, etc; or on the soundtrack of a Richard Curtis romantic comedy film starring Hugh Grant.
Oh yeah and they suck too. I'd rather bang my head against the wall repeatedly whilst shit like Arctic Monkeys, Franz Ferdinand and Bloc Party played in the background.

Okay if they're not Indie what category would you put them in? I don't know I was guessing with Indie.
Snow Play are odd one for me as I didn't like their first album, don't like any of the other bands you list but oddly do like their second album. I've heard Artic Monkey's latest album (all 38 minutes of it, wtf???) and just like the Kooks album it's utter drivel.
James Blunt is an excellent singer. I know you're not a fan Mark but does that mean you're going to bash every British singer out there?
Her brother is awful but Natasha Beddingfield is talented too. As is Amy MacDonald, so really there is lots of British talent. You just need to look for it.
Daniel's "If You're Not The One" is excellent, his sisters song "I Wanna Have Your Babies" is execrable. I think "You're Beautiful" is a lovely ballad.
We're going way off topic here.
Tom McRae is the most talented Singer-Songwriter in the UK right now. James Blunt is an excellent singer? Only if you like whiny voice ferrets that can just about hold a note!
Perhaps someone should start a thread in the music forum on the topic of "who are the best/worst contemporary artists" and move all these OT posts into that?

No just the shit ones like James Blunt. 8)
And the only sound I wanna hear come out of Natasha's mouth is: "ahh, Mark, you made my cum again!"
If Snow Patrol make me sleepy... then Coldplay put me into a 7-year coma.

That sounds right on the money.

Natasha is terrible. Horrible nasual voice and have you listened to her lyrics? Her first two singles are about the frustration of not being able to write music lyrics. How fucking incredible, it's like those idiots in high school English class whom would give speeches about speeches; they would then act surprised when the teacher gave them a C.

Radiohead are fucking boring.
"Creep" was decent but wasn't that like 15 years ago??
I'm not overly familiar with Massive Attack - except that 'Unfinished Symphony' song that's always on TV.

I don't care which part of the UK it comes from. It's either shite or it isn't. Brad you seem to have a problem with Scots? You really need to sort it out man.

Huh? The Proclaimers are great
I have a problem with you moaning all the time how bad it is that Scotland is part of the UK, sort it out man

Natasha was born in England so making her English, she even has an English accent.
Roald Dahl was born in Wales, did that make him Welsh?
John Barrowman is actually Scottish but has an American accent.
Maybe Natsha's parents were from NZ.

You moan about Scots more than I do the English these days. I don't have a problem with Scotland being in the UK. I just think that the UK government is crap (mind you so is the Scottish gov) and the English media is biased. As a member of the UK I have the right to moan about that if I want to. I've never criticised anyone because they're English. That would be racist.
Markgway wrote:Natasha was born in England so making her English, she even has an English accent.
I know she was born here but her parents are both from New Zealand.
A useless fact for you: I once received an e-mail from Katie Melua's Uncle saying she was proud to be Georgian, seriously I did. I bet she'd have a beef being quoted as British.
