Another frenchman.
With Shikamaru (who hasn't posted yet), that's two new frenchmen in 3 days.

Now I'm just "that weird french guy with a cat avatar who comes to BnB once a year for no reason and then disappears again".

Yep.

We used to have another frenchman called Chow Gam Kong.
He disappeared without a trace two years ago.

We've also got Palplathune (from HKmania.com) but he hasn't posted anything since November.

I'm half-expecting you to vanish into thin air any minute, now.

Haha, yeah, Shunji Iwai is my favourite Japanese director, and All About Lily Chou-Chou one of my favourite films :)

I'm not gonna vanish Tom, but I won't be posting much since I haven't got the Internet at home (yet).
And I come from hkmania too.

I feel like we're slightly going out of topic now ^^

I can fix that quite easily:

Update:

On October 9th, Seven Sept will release Jackie Chan's Battlecreek Brawl.

Pathé (under the Asian Star label) will release an exclusive 9-DVD Toshiro Mifune boxset on September 28th.
Here's the list of titles:
L'embuscade = The Ambush
Sous la bannière du Samouraï = Samurai Banners
Samurai saga
Daredevil in the castle
Ninjutsu
Ninjutsu 2
Les aventures de Takla Makan
Rise against the sword
Samurai Pirate

It's because I had nothing interesting to say since :D

But I'm still checking the forum

Oh, and to be exact, my first assignement is more on hkcinemagic than hkmania. The site should have a few updates in a few days for those of you who are interested by the way.

Hey dvdvision, your nickname reminds me of a french dvd magazine, and some guys from HK Video used to write for that magazine too if I remember well.

Did you use to work for that magazine?

Anyway, nice to see other "compatriotes" here :D

Qu'est ce que tu veux dire par preuves ? A HK, ils savent pas ce qu'ils vont sortir dans trois mois, alors dans un an...

I knew it 8)

I really liked that magazine (that was like 6-7 years ago, pfiouu...), especially the HK part. Are you now part of a magazine of the same kind?

Anyway we're here to talk about forthcoming French dvd releases of Asian movies... I hope you'll be able to give us some good information in the future :D

Hey frimann, yes, DVDvision ran from 1999 to 2003, I quit when it was sold to another company who wanted to change everything, and they destroyed it six months after I left, sadly. There were 33 issues total under my command, including the 007 official mag and the Lawrence of Arabia special. The rest have nothing to do with me.

I now own www.dvdvision.fr , a tribute site to the original mag, and I have some ammo in reserve to sort of renew that spirit, soon with HD... watch and see !

Regarding HK DVD, they are doing a great job, and perhaps I will post more info soon. :bom:

Hop, bookmarked :D (ahh good memories with covers of the magazine in the banner...)

Thanks, I'll check the website later.

More Jackie Chan movies to come out on DVD in December according to a siulong on the hkcinemagic forum:
Le gagnant / Winners and Sinners
Le flic de Hong Kong 1 / My Lucky Stars
Le flic de Hong Kong 2 / Twinkle Twinkle Lucky Stars
Big Brother / Miracles

I'd be mostly interested by My Lucky Stars, as the dubtitles on the R1 Fox pissed me off

On HK Flix it says something about Wiesenstien Co rights stopping them shipping the Universe disc. Do DD have this title (From beijing With Love) or something?

Possibly. Not that they'd ever release it.
Took them years to release Shaolin Soccer.

"Wiesenstien"  You're not too good at spelling, are ya ?
It's Weinstein.

I hope HKV have spent a lot of time working on the subs.
Chow's puns are extremely difficult to translate.

I'll get the Universe disc then, that'll be the next best thing
