No, I thought ACE 1 (contained on the remastered disc) is the theatrical version, and the old release is an extended version (TV cut?) or something.

You're right. But who wants foolscreen non-anamorphic junk just for one extra scene? Would be okay if it's open-matte though, is it?

Not sure.
Are the R2 DVDs extended? Theyre anamorphic.

Nah, the theatrical cut.

R1 remaster has 5.1, R2s only have 2.0 surround. Highly likely to be just a discrete upmix though, if Warner's Batman (1989) SE is any indication.

EDIT: Nah, Ace would've highly likely been in 5.1 originally, being a 1997 flick and all. R2 = probably downmixed fail, not really important for a smaller budget comedy though.

Actually it was a 1993/4 film. But as you say 5.1 probably isnt as important for ACE.

You heard much by Ryan Adams? His debut solo album features some tracks that are extremely close to classic Dylan.

I've heard a little by him, not the debut album. Thanks, I'll give it a look in.

How can I tell if its a boot?
It seemed a good price, the seller had a high feedback rating (96% or something like that).

I recently got the OOP Pinocchio SE (R2) from Amazon UK Marketplace, that was legit.

OK - thanks!
The ones on the hologram ring thing in the middle?
He looked an OK seller - I avoided a cheaper one (for $22.95) as in the description it said "Single disc.. Single disc" which made it sound like a different version.
