John Rambo (Rambo 4) - Really damn violent! :D

Dont mention the Oscars, they are a joke. Films that win ussually win for reasons, not the fact they are the best film thats for sure.

Well obviously until Resident Evil is given the praise it's due, you'll always anti-establishment won't ya romero?

Stallone said this will be rougher than the Saw films

I hope it has some depth and soul to it - unlike the 'Saw' films. I mean, hardly a worthy target to aim for... If it's just gratuitous violence it'll be more mindless crap like Parts 2 and 3.

Pulp fiction is a Movie ??? :drunken:

Saw has barley no violence in them. So thats a crap thing to say.

I was under the impression that the Oscars really awards box-office results, not films based on content and art (even if the statuettes are awarded under the pretence of "best screenplay", it's actually "best screenplay that made the industry five hundred millions dollars richer")

Wow! That's how the film world has changed and people have been jaded by brutality in films. I'm not saying that "Saw" is the most brutal and violent film ever, but it definitely earns its 18-rating.

The clever thing with Saw, is that you see the aftermath of what has happened, So it left to your imagation how horrific it is, especially the guy espacing out of the barb wires!!, Ouch!! Its really not that brutal, but I have to admit it is effective, and the best one out of the trilogy. The 2 and 3 was good, but not a speck on the 1st one. Watch it again, and you will see that really it isn't that brutal, but your mind in the beginning thinks it is.

Markgway · Post by **Markgway** » 09 Jul 2007, 15:20

I saw that Stallone quote in Empire and he mentioned Saw III and said that the violence had to be so graphic because audiences had become desensitised in recent years.

romerojpg · Post by **romerojpg** » 09 Jul 2007, 16:16

From what I saw (get it!) in the Rambo 4 leaky trailer, it blows Saw away for violence, grahic violcnce anyway. Saw I love, but its all in your mind it has to be said like you lot just said, we dont see much of anything if you are honest, unlike the far lesser parts 2 and 3.

Rambo 4 Stallone is really pushing his opinions in the interviews and even slagging off his old films and calling them bad names, he is going way over the top in my opinion thinking this new films going to change the world or something

Markgway · Post by **Markgway** » 09 Jul 2007, 17:38

Yeah, he said Rambo III was crap.

romerojpg · Post by **romerojpg** » 09 Jul 2007, 19:38

I think its fun action, maybe he forgot what that is

hope not, but serious shit is as good as fun I guess.

Markgway · Post by **Markgway** » 10 Jul 2007, 09:33

Rambo III is the 'dumb but fun' kinda crap.

HungFist · Post by **HungFist** » 10 Jul 2007, 15:53

Rambo III is simply great movie making

romerojpg · Post by **romerojpg** » 10 Jul 2007, 16:42

Great dumb fun that is

I find it a little odd when epope slag off their older films, esspecially onese that are not acctually that bad, part 3 was silly, but hell everyone got something out of it surley

"Rambo 3" is awesome.

dvdvision · Post by **dvdvision** » 11 Jul 2007, 13:21

Yeah, the turkey is actually Rambo II, it's really badly directed. Don't fire at me.

brooce-leroy · Post by **brooce-leroy** » 14 Jul 2007, 08:49

But it has Martin "John Kreese" Kove in it.

brooce-leroy · Post by **brooce-leroy** » 14 Jul 2007, 23:17

Depends on your sexual inclination.

Markgway · Post by **Markgway** » 15 Jul 2007, 00:43

I would've liked to have seen Kreese get in the ring and start beating the shit out of Daniel:

"I was in fuckin' 'Nam, man. You don't know. You don't know. I carried my best friend home in a plastic bag so take your crane kick and shove it up your skinny ass!"
