Well it's in 2-3 days. Anyone gonna bother watching?

3 or 4 good acts, particular Roger Waters, a Genesis reunion with Phil Collins, The Police reunited.

All the money goes to charity/good causes Mark, how can that be a bad thing? :)

A concert about saving the environment is ironic really. Considering the petrol that people use to get there, the paper they're using to print shit on, etc.

the electricity they use to power the event..

always made me laugh to save the environment they say cut down on energy usage, then hold these big ass events, that use the same amount of energy as a 3 or 4 houses use in a year...

True but it is a good way to raise awareness, in theory anyway, not that enough people remotely care.

p.s - It's got naff all to do with Bob Geldof wrong dude.

Still, Genesis reunited with Phil Collins as frontman rather than Peter Gabriel. How fucking awesome is that?

Very awesome.

Collins was the lead singer for Genesis for by far the longest period of the bands history, plus most of their big hits were with Collins as the lead. Longer than Peter Gabriel and Ray Wilson.

Did anyone see Al Gore make his speech?
I saw Paolo Nutini (sp?) perform Wonderful World, it was good, it's a classic song which helped, but he sounded like he was trying to imitate Louis Armstrong.
While Live Earth is largely carbon neutral (or theyre trying to be) a concert won't help much in the big scheme, it's good to raise awareness, but its like Live 8 really. I mean, did you know the population is set to increase to 9 Billion in the next 30 years (if it increases at current rates? That's the real problem. And one tiny change in the earth's temperature and we would either freeze or get fried.

The people who can make any obvious difference are the governments of the largest and most affluent countries of the world. People on the ground can do their bit but really it is only a bit.

True. But I guess you gotta start somewhere. :)
I watched the clip about Britain's first carbon neutral village or something, did you see that? That is good, but the guy who runs the pub was only thinking of it like "Oh look we saved £200 this month", I doubt very much people are suddenly talking about climate change rather than football :D

So who was your favourite?

Keene were their usual awfulness, especially when the lead got all statesmen like and waffled some dross at us about saving the planet. Thanks Mr. Obvious.

I'm not a huge fan but boy Madonna was good though, she certainly knows how to put on a show. Pussycat Dolls were good too, some of them are right mingers though which is odd when we're supposed to think they're all hot. They put on a good act if entirely fake, could the leads tits being hanging out any further???

Sadly I missed Genesis :( . Spinal Tap made me laugh, what a bunch of over the hill OAPs, they looked ridiculous. It made me laugh even more when Edith Bowman tried to interview them but they're so old they couldn't hear a word she said :D

I saw Madonna performing "Hung Up" and Paolo Nutini (sp?), he was good. He sounded like a guy doing a Louis Armstrong impression though.
Didnt see the PCD I'm afraid.

Oops, well, I didnt see Genesis either. :(
Al Gore was the organiser, so I'm sure he would have made sure the event was carbon neutral or at least used less than usual.

Al Gore ewhat a total and utter moron!

He moans about the enviroment all the time, but when you see how he infects the world with polution and wastes stuff its staggering, the amount of energy he uses to light up his epic mansion is a joke! he owns more land than the scottish! then add in the thousands of miles on planes he rides every week, the mans a one man global killer.
