Christianity/ The Bible can be interpreted just as violently as Islam/The Koran/The Sunna (sp?) if you want to. It's all in the eye of the beholder. Some will only pick the peacefull messages from their holy book, some will emphasize the violent messages... and some see a middle-road and wont let a book dictate how they will treat others.

And that's pretty much all I will have to say on the matter. I could make a shocking doc about Christians, or Jews, or Muslims, or hamsters if I really wanted to. There's good and bad in all things.

Agreed.

My grandparents are religious but wouldn't hurt anybody.

Probably.

I just posted this link because I know a lot of you are into docs about religion and politics. Wasn't intended to spark a debate really.

I dont mind the link, and usually I dont mind political/religious debates, but this is a documentary about the evils of a certain religion. And like I said, we can just make a simular negative documentary about pretty much all other stuff as well.

I still stand by my belief that 95-99% of people are all the same, regardless of beliefs. As in, they just want a normal, peacefull life, maybe with kids, and grow old and healthy.

Also, the majority of people, also religious one, will still think for themselfs and lead a normal life, taking from their religion or values taught by parents, what feels right for them and their life.

However, it's the very narrowminded people that cause the majority of problems in this world, and affect our views on their supposed beliefs.

Like you said, Mark, my grandparents were also religious, but also wouldnt hurt a fly. They went to church once or twice a week, prayed for meals, and honestly believed in a God... but they were still capable of not letting their religious beliefs narrow their opinion or relationship about/with people.
I'm not religious, and they were perfectly fine with that. Even though the bible says they should hate me in their hearts. They wouldnt care (in a bad way) if I married a chick from whichever other religion, or color. Or if one of their children or grandchildren would be gay, if that's what made him/her happy. They might think it's a bit awkward/strange, but they would accept it and hope he/she would be happy.

Personally, I think EVERYONE is capable of hurting/killing other people, depending on the circumstances, regardless of age, race, religion, color or whatever.
I know I could and would kill, if there is a reason to. And so could and would all of you.
The difference between a good person and a bad person, is what those reasons would be.

Ultimately we should be judged on what we say and do ourselves and that goes for everyone regardless of whether they're religious or not.

That said I don't have a problem with a doc investigating the supposed negatives of religion. It's all fair game as far as I'm concerned and if they want to make a sequel about Christianity or Judaism that's fine with me.
