Bang on. It's a Geoff Murphy film, a true NZ classic.
Real shame that he became insta-suck when he moved to Hollywood. He started a grand tradition of Kiwi directors making shit movies once they moved out to America. Jane Campion, Lee Tamahori, Vincent Ward.

You were being sarcastic I know, but it is a valid point.
Let's be honest. The merits of Lord of the Rings and especially King Kong are highly debateable.

Yes, they are. The theatrical cut of Two Towers is sloppily edited. The extended cut is a far superior film, but it is not Jackson's preferred version - that would be the theatrical cut. Otherwise I have no complaints, solid films.

I just searched Wiki. I found a list of NZ actors and looked for dead ones but didn't find any promising leads so I found the main article on NZ film.
The Japans.
Very easy if you've seen it.

D'oh, I thought Eva said the director was dead. Instead it's just my poor brain. Ah, well, never heard of the film anyways.... :drunken:

Sorry back to LOTR but I thought all of the EE's were Jackson's "preferred versions"
The LOTRs are outstanding films IMO. Kong was a fine film, but too long I think.

They aren't, the TCs are. Also Jackson's preferred cut of Frighteners is the TC, the extended cut was labelled a DC for marketing purposes.
