You mean the goal by Kuyt? It was offside.
I didnt care much before the game who would go trough. Both teams have some players I like and dislike.
But as the game went on Liverpool definately deserved it more, and guys like Drogba falling all over the place, should be shot.
So in the end I was happy with the result. Although at the beginning I hoped Kalou would show his skills, but he wasnt getting involved in the game enough, with players either not passing to him, or passing badly, and people not understanding his passes...
He's a great player, but because of Shevchenko, he doesnt get enough playtime. While I feel Kalou is better than Sheva in his current form.

Hey Slasher
I didnt mean that in a bad way, I was merely smiling as I'm happy Liverpool won, should of been 2-0 as you say (I didn't see the whole game but watched some of the pens).
Glad it wiped the smile off smug Jose's face though

Agree, he is a great player but Drogba dived too much, most of the time all Chelsea did was long ball the ball to Drogba

Yes it was a fantastic game. I must admit I get a lot of pleasure out of watching Chelsea lose no matter what the team or competition, so being Liverpool makes it really special. Has anyone noticed how Jose's comments aren't quite so arrogant and he's always making up excuses before the matches now? Obviously I didn't want Man U to win the league but I just can't stand that smug bastard thinking he's God's gift to football. I'm sure most managers could be successful given 25 - 30 million £ per player per position. Could Jose have done as well as big Sam at Bolton or Harry Redknapp at Portsmouth or even Paul Jewell at Wigan on their limited budgets?
Looking forward to the final, is it on ITV? Or have Sky got exclusive rights ?

I love Jose. I think he's brilliant. I hate Chelsea though, apart from a few players. But Jose is great. I like his honesty and attitude
He's like he comes straight out of a sergio leone movie
He's cool as hell.
Wenger is just downright annoying at times, and Ferguson is a bully... but Jose is like The Fonz.

I havent seen that. but I know he has had spats with other managers, and you will often see him go out of his way before the match to shake the other guy's hand. Like with Rijkaard, believe he waited especially for him at the tunnel, waiting for Frank to come out.sky75 wrote:He's also a bad sport refusing to shake hands with Rafa ( can't remember which game it was though?) after losing really pissed me off.
I believe he is just very honest and outspoken, which I really like.
Also, he gets all the media-attention on him, to take it away from the players. And you see his players clearly love him and respect him.
I used to like Arsene Wenger before, but he is TOO much of a whiner, and makes too much excuses, and I dont like him tactically. The CL final was a good example of what I mean (and if you dont know what I mean, just look up that old thread where I explain it).
Plus whenever a guy of his made a dirty foul or dived or whatever, he claims he didnt see it from the bench, yet whenever an opponent does something you can bet he did see it, and will bring it up in the post-match interview
So no, not much of a fan of Wenger anymore.
I mean, come on. You have a legend in your squad, Begrkamp, for over 10 years... and you are in the CL finale in St. Denis (Dennis was actually named after Denis Law), and you OBVIOUSLY need a Bergkamp-like player to link up Henry with the rest of the team, cause Henry was lost alone on an island that match, AND YOU BRING IN FUCKING REYES!?!?
Just for that, Wenger should have been shot in the face!

Yeah, I don't like it when he says "I didnt see it" either, but most managers are biased and look after their own.
His young players are amazing (the CC is a good example of this). If we had won then it would have been an amazing acheivement by the Kids but Chelsea (or rather Drogba) was the difference in the final.
He's still trying to replace Bergkamp/Pires, no? And look at the injuries we've had.

I think you'll find it happened a couple of times where Jose hasn't shook hands with the opposing manager( Rafa being one) after the match again after losing. I think it's easy to shake hands before the match but it's essential to do it after no matter how you feel . I can't actually remember any other manager not shaking hands.Yi-Long wrote:I havent seen that. but I know he has had spats with other managers, and you will often see him go out of his way before the match to shake the other guy's hand. Just for that, Wenger should have been shot in the face! That's just a crime against every football-loving fan out there. He should have had a ban and a fine for that decision.
I agree you're right he does protect his players by taking all the pressure on him. However I believe he's the reason why most people hate Chelsea.
I don't like Wenger much although I would say generally he's a fantastic manager (he should have been made the England manager imho. McLaren was a huge mistake ) even if he did get the Champions League final wrong. Mind you Rafa got his tactics wrong initially in the Champions' League final but at least he corrected his mistake!

Ah well.. shaking hands is overrated anyhow
Nah seriously, I'm sure there are times when things happen during a match where you a; dont wanna shake a guy's hand, or b: just want to get to the dressing room ASAP, and if the opposing manager first goes onto the pitch or whatever to thank his players, then no big deal.
About Wenger being a good coach: I think he's great in certain departments, like scouting young talent and improving them tremendously, as well as his overall style of play. When everything works well, Arsenal is capabel of playing the best football. Fast, quick one-touch passing, etc. Although when certain players are injured or retired, the quality goes downhill quite quick.
However, tactically, I think he's mediocre. Example given the CL finale, which I feel Arsenal lost unnecesarrily, even after the red card. But not just that match. Very often when a game isnt going well, he will still wait wayyy to long with his substitutions, or changing something on the pitch. He's usually too stubborn to alter his first choice tactics. So no, his tactics can annoy me alot at times, especially when I can clearly see what the problem is and how to fix it, and apparently he cant.
A coach like Louis Van Gaal is great both tactically, as well as improving his young players. Plus he plays attacking football. AZ Alkmaar has just been a absolute joy to watch this season, and sadly they gave away the championship on the very last day
