cheers, although I don't think other members may feel these films are classics like I do. I think I have similar taste to you Tom, I remember seeing your review for Casshern, watched it, and yes loved it. Very similar taste

LOL Raphael is pretty cool, I do like him, better than Leo, I recently watched the movie, and still enjoyed it. I haven't checked out any more of the old skool TMHT, however have been starting to watch TMNT 2003 instead, which are pretty cool. Just waiting for the movie to come out now on DVD

Also getting set a Mysterious Cities of Gold preservation DVD of the series, so that on my next to watch

Yeah, I'm waiting for the 2007 movie as well

I've seen all 12 eps in this volume now, its close to 4/5 (but not quite) there are a couple of episodes I don't like as much (Turtles at the Earths Core, Attack of Big MACC etc), amazingly "MACC" has a dialogue snip in the UK version (not sure why).
I'm betting the UK version was specially prepared.
I did get more of the references/jokes now though eg "I love the smell of lasers in the morning" in the MACC episode.
And the "April Fool" episode is pretty cool, the one where April is mistaken for a princess, the Turtles do actually fancy her in that one

From Crash Cinema's Unearthed Classics range comes this complex portrayal of the consequences of obsession. Jimmy Wang Yu commands the screen and the indie boundaries doesn't seem to bother director Poon Lui as he puts forth design and atmosphere to compete with the big boys.

And anyone who can't follow this one via the original Chinese/English subtitles, is an idiot.

They Live - 5 / 5
John Carpenter was a much underrated director in the 80's. Such classics like The Thing, Halloween, The Fog, Big Trouble and They Live are superb movies. I recently brought this from Play sales, and thought it may be dated and perhaps it wasn't as good as I remembered it. Well I am bloody surprised, as even thou the movie looks dated in a nice charming 80's style, the story is still as relevant today as it was then. This story could be set up in today world with our paranoia after 9/11. How we becomes so selefish and killing each other. This is a superb film, highly recommended. Roddy Piper is pretty good, still remember him from WWF. Meg Forest eyes are just soo beautiful, whenever I see how, her eyes just stand out soo much.

By the way, nice cameo of Egon's P.K.E. meters

Indeed, I hoping they would release a special edition of this. Still need to get In the Mouth of Madness as well. Sam Neil is excellent in this

Lethal Weapon 4 - 3/5

Still a decent entry in the series, even though it had become more of a comedy than an action movie by now. Possibly better than the 3rd movie. I loved the beginning of the movie, where Riggs and Murtaugh have to tackle an ammo-ed up nutcase.

Murtaugh: Who's this guy?
Riggs: Dunno...spokesperson for the NRA?

Yeah it is Tom. This was another film that was heavily cut to get an R-rating in the US, but here in the UK it was cut down further to get a 15 rating. I doubt doner's original cut of the film will ever see the light of day.

The BBFC cut (an additional) 1:33 from various violent scenes for the UK cinema/VHS/DVD versions.

There's a list of cuts kicking about the net... and it's pretty long.

I feel it should be a law to be open about any cuts being made. So when you buy a dvd, it should say on the box how much was cut and why. They can do it with a simple logo, the time, and the reason. Shouldnt take up much space, and people would know that the version in their hands is (maybe very slightly) cut, and they might wanna think about waiting for, or importing, a better version.

I feel selling a movie that's missing minutes, without telling the costumers, is wrong, or at least deceitfull.

Not much really, but back in the day when LW4 was coming out over here, Barry Norman had an interview with Mel on The Film Show where Barry brought up the issue of the amount of violence in the film, which he thought was really excessive. In response Gibson said something along the lines of "you should have seen the film before the MPAA were done with it", to which Barry just said "so it was originally even worse!" and Gibson just said something like "yeah, we really went for it".
