Death Note live-action films - the verdict?

So how are the Death Note live-action films? Do they suck?

I haven't bothered with opinions from anime/Wapanese sites, they're highly likely to be biased.

Cheers.

Depends on whether you've seen the anime/read the manga, coz they're a pretty poor adaptation of the source imo. The film's are watchable enough, just low budget, unambitious and slightly routine.

Shit, I just noticed that they had cast the guy who played Nanahara from Battle Royale as Light. That fucker can't act.
