The Medallion? You serious? I think thats easily 1 of JC's absolute 2 worst films (the other being 'The Tuxedo'!).

Horoscope II: The Woman From Hell 3/5

An average suspense type film, made slightly better than average for three reasons. One of them is Pinky Cheung being very cute and the other 2 belong to Sophie Ngan... yummy.

Shanghai Noon is better than its sequel. I enjoyed Knights more the first time than the second time. The Medallion is definitely his worst, but then again it was totally ruined by Sony.

I am serious. Medallion was awfully executed but it was fun too (in other words it wasn't awfully excuted). Both Shanghai films were terribly "average". I had seen the first film back when it played in theaters and when I tried to watch it again about a year ago I couldn't watch more than 20 minutes. There was simply nothing about the movie. I wasn't bad, it wasn't good, it was nothing. I didn't feel anything. At least The Medallion failed so badly it wasn't (that) boring.

The sequel I managed to get through so maybe it was a bit better than the first film. But then again, it was worse than The Medallion, so...

The Tuxedo I haven't seen. But surely it can't be as bad as Rob-B-Hood???

The Medallion? I think even JC would want to forget that piece of turd LOL! Nothing is as bad as The Tuxedo though. That's the truth.

I'd say The Tuxedo is probably the worst.

I heard The Medallion was a piece of shit so I was surprised it turned out to be not that bad. Not good filmmaking, but passable entertainment. I actually found more to enjoy than in New Police Story. Maybe I was in a good mood? Who knows?

TBH choosing the best film between New Police Story, The Medallion and the Tuxedo is like trying to pick between eating someone else's shit, drinking someone else's diarrhoea and consuming something that's a mix between the two.

I find Noon/Knights & the Rush Hours to be some of Chan's greatest works. I'd rate them higher than the Police Stories. I haven't seen much of Chan's early HK stuff but they don't really appeal to me.

I'm gonna plead ignorance here - if you can recommend some quality Chan films (preferable something with a good storyline) then I'm game.

Ong Bak 4-4.5/5

After watching quite a number of so-so to drivel films of late decided I needed some decent kick ass action. Ong Bak fulfilled!

I found Shanghai Knights boring and frankly painful to sit through. The fights were awful, especially the anti-climactic one with Donnie Yen (FFS he's blown up by a firework). Don't get me started on the Chaplin kid. I'd rate amongst First Strike (the one with the rubber shark wrestling) as one of the worst JC films I've seen.

I'll correct myself: I think his worst movie is New Police Story. The Medallion and The Tuxedo are both terrible films in their own right but I pick NPS as his absolute worst because I was expecting so much from it considering it was supposed to be JC's big return to HK cinema. Unlike 'Medallion' and 'Tuxedo', which I knew were going to be crap just based on the trailers.

'Noon' and 'Knights' aren't classic JC but, IMO, they're far better than any of his films ranging from 1997 - now.

Shangai Noon and Knights are far far superior films to Who Am I? Although their fight scenes aren't as good.

Child Play 5: Seed of Chucky - 4 / 5
LOL, this is a great film, I was laughing so much, what a perfect sequel to Bride of Chucky. Jennifer Tilly is great, and she really takes the p*** out of herself. She is a good sport. Brad Dourif is just great with Chucky, but my favorite scene is with Britney..Opps I did it again :lol:

Top sequel :)

@Shing, Eva and DLH:
Let's make a list, then. :D

From 97 to now:

New Police Story = 4,75/5
Who Am I = 4,5/5
Rush Hour = 4,25/5
Around the World = 4/5
The Myth = 3,75/5
Accidental Spy = 3,75/5
Shanghai Noon = 3,5/5
Gorgeous = 3,25/5
Rob-B-Hood = 3/5
Shanghai Knights = 2/5
Mr Nice Guy = 1,5/5
Rush Hour 2 = 1/5
Medallion = 0,5/5
Tuxedo = 0/5
I used to be "the man who loves the movies you hate".
Now I'm just "that weird french guy with a cat avatar who comes to BnB once a year for no reason and then disappears again".
