The Namesake (Mira Nair's latest)

Post by BiscLimpkit »

There's been reasonably positive buzz around this movie.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0433416/

It has Kal Penn in it. Wonder if he can pull off a drama (I've only ever seen him in trashy comedies, although Harold and Kumar was quite smart).

For those that don't know, Mira Nair was responsible for Salam Bombay, Kama Sutra and Monsoon Wedding (which remains my second favourite Indian film of all time).

I love Monsoon Wedding, so am looking forward to this. Thanks for the info, Bisc. :)

Hope you get to see it. I certainly won't due to Aberdeen sucking when it comes to non-mainstream films.

Just watched this... it showed in Aberdeen for one day.

It is contemporary cinema at its utmost finest. Another triumphant effort from Mira Nair.

68m - check it out.
