Yeah, the original theatrical edition was released in non-anamorphic and mono in the early days of DVD. The International version, which is much better, is the Collector's Edition with the documentary and commentary.

I'd also like a badass Conan the Destroyer DVD.

I realized that but I thought it might as well match up with the others, after all they did do a new transfer of Die Another Day but that was a shit master for 2002. We'll have to wait and see how good CR looks.

That MC DVD sounds awesome!

Crap! I remember that Russell Mulcay was going to direct it and it'd be a hard R. That severely sucks. :(

What would happen if Uncle Buck was given the Lowry restoration process?

I had always heard rumors that this scene was supposed to be at night. (The things you do when you're bored)

Uncle Buck is like one of John Hughes' weakest films. What happened to him in the 90's? After being a powerhouse bubblegum screenwriter in the 80s, he just slowly puttered out after Home Alone.

Can't get better than the scene when he tells off the principal.

Eva, I agree about Hughes', he kind of just disappeared after Home Alone.

What was wrong with Home Alone 2? It is a perfectly fine children's film.

I think the main problem people have with Home Alone 2 is that it's almost identical to the first film. I don't mind it though.

Uncle Buck is fantastic, but my ideal SE of it would have the theatrical cut and the extended cut that played to test audiences, coz the released version certainly feels truncated (it's obvious there was a shitload more of Buck's tinkering about in the kitchen).

There's also this little snippet from the IMDB:

"The scene in which Buck confronts the drunk clown ran a bit longer and contained a lot more profanity in its original theatrical version and so enraged parents after the film's first weekend that Universal recalled the film to have the scene edited down to its current state."
