Hey 300 is showing in the UK now

if you know where to go and see it, I was going tommorw night, but they changed locations

gutted as they are free screenings too.

Its been a massive hit, made its budget back in its foirst few days, so look forward to 301 next year

Barbarians are well known for their inexplicable hatred of boilers (copper pipes as well; central heating systems in general) it must be said.

Blow Out (De Palma) - 4/5

Very good, if not excellent, film. The transfer is not very good though. Is there a R1 SE?

Loved this movie, great stories which are all linked. Loved the politic of how Oil and Greed affects government we know, and how the poor people are treated.

A Scanner Darkly - 4/5
Interesting movie, which I think I have to watch again. I love the rotocoping animation, and think I "get" the movie, but think i will have to see it again.

Now, what a big disappointment that was! The movie tries way too much to be "cool", but in fact it's almost all crap, although there are nice ideas and moments in it.
Still: not a good movie. What a pity

Forbidden City Cop

Just watched that. It's definitely not as good as some of Chow's other classics, in my eyes, but still very funny and of course watchable.
I especially liked the scene introducing the 4 Forbidden City Cops.

Great fun!

Its a film I feel divide people, some people like it, but other think it is not great. There are a few films which I really didn't like which were Babel and 24 Grams. Each to their own, but some parts of Syriana struck a cord with me, maybe that why I did like the movie

By the numbers British drama, Helen Mirren won the oscar but film itself is nothing special. James Cromwell as Prince Philip and his obsession with hunting stags oblivious to the chaos around him is excellent.

I expected something completely different from "Syriana" and was hence kinda disappointed when I came out of the theatre. I felt that it was a good film, though and got it on DVD. I really like the film now. Not one I could watch again soon as it is very depressing.

I hoped Syriana would be a thriller, that's why I rented it, but not a lot happens in 2hrs except people talking. I tend to find "issue" films are like that. They forget to entertain. So unless the subject already interests you the movie isn't gonna 'strike a chord' as Slasher puts it. Politics can be interesting and suspenseful on film, but not here. It's obvious that the filmmakers were too pleased with their self-importance (and thoughts of awards season) to care.
