Most of DD's classic titles like Snake and Crane Arts of Shaolin have been postponed.

Fist of Legend conveniently scheduled for way over in December. No doubt it will be delayed into 2008, knowing Brian White...

Also, I fear they will pull the same crap they did with Tom Yum Goong: Release the american version on the first disc and have the uncut version as an axtra on disc 2.

Yeah. I'm sceptical and pessimistic.

Born to Fight is stunning action wise, good job the whole film is action. Does that mean the widescreen versions in the UK for instance are cropped from Fulscreen?

No Romero, the old Born To Fight has never been released in the UK, or anywhere (until now).
Jeez does it matter which discs each version of the feature is on Yi? :D As long as we get good presentation of the Asian version as well as American I couldn't give a fuck :D

Yeah, but putting the original uncut version as an extra on the 2nd disc means we're not gonna get the best version possible, as there will be a limited amount of space available for what THEY consider an 'extra', but what WE consider the only version worth watching. Let's be honest, no one is going to wanna watch the dub and cut version on disc 1, if they could watch the original and better version that's on disc 2. So disc 1, to me, doesnt even count.

Ofcourse, this is all just speculation on my part, based on a long long history of being screwed by these people (the weinsteins).
Who knows!? They might succeed in actually giving us exactly the version we want on disc 1, uncut, subbed, fully restored and in gorgeous shape... and fill the 2nd disc wth worthwhile and interesting extra's...

But like I said, I'm very skeptic. Untill I have an uncut, subbed DVDof Fist of Legend in my hand, I dont believe it happening

Are you serious? Why don't you care? The new "Born to Fight" is a very action packed remake of the old one by the same director (Panna Rittikrai). Check out this amazing full contact 6 minute clip from the film (watch the whole clip as the best moments are not in the beginning of the clip):

Damn... I still havent seen it. Is the Uk version the best option to go for?
When I watch the trailer it all seems a bit 'mehhh'... bunch of gymnasts doing some action-stuff... but it didnt really seem all that appealing. It didnt really have that 'WOW!' factor that Ong-bak and TYG have.

The clip I posted was from the original, not the 2004 remake.

I think in terms of action, both films are really solid.

The UK version is OK. DTS sound and decent EPK stuff, I say go for it. While for me DD is the way to go as I live in the States. DD's does have an exclusive making-of documentary though.

I didnt watch your clip, as I think I've seen it a few months orso ago :) I meant the UK trailer for the 2004 version...

I should check and see how much the dutch dvd is...
I doubt I'll bother with the R1. R2 sounds good, if it's cheap enough.

Ahhh got you now :) I didnt know there was an origanal, I thought the old Born to Fight was a Hong Kong film from the 70's :D wouldnt mind seeing this older version in that case, but it will be hard to beat the new version for amazing scenes of stuntwork.
