My Sassy Girl; TV series

Post by Yi-Long »

Has anyone seen this series and is it any good?
I noticed the r1 boxset is pretty cheap at amazon.com, as well as on dddhouse.com (r3).

Yeah, it's 20 euro, including shipping, from dddhouse.

Been reading reviews about the series itself, and it's mostly pretty damn positive. Also, it's just 17 episodes of 60 minutes, so it's only a 1 time buy, plus it has english subs AND is region free.

I'm thinking about buying it for my girlfriend, and I might like the series myself as well...

The only hesitation I have, is that I know nothing about the AV-quality of the boxset. For all I know, it's crappy vcd-dumped onto dvd quality.

If this series was filmed like all the other Korean TV series, than I can do without it. I'm not a fan of watching stories from a crappy DV material, no matter how good the story might be. Actually turned me off to finish "Damo".

I have no earlier experience when it comes to korean tv series, so I can only assume you mean the quality was very poor.

What's Damo?

"Damo - The Undercover Lady Detective". The storyline sounds very promising and so do the reviews for it. I could only watch the first 1 and a half DVD of the box set, though.

Looks pretty damn cool indeed. What was wrong with the AV quality? Is it as good/bad as HK tv shows?

Well, it's your average DV quality. Nowhere close to what film material looks like or HD.

Hmm... so it would basically just be the same quality as normal cantonese series and such? I dont think my girl would be too bothered by that, and neither would I probably (though I'm not sure I'll watch the series...)

Ah well... I'll sleep on it, and might order it tomorrow.

I would love to watch heroes, although since grim mentioned BBC is gonna air it, I will probably wait for that :)

Seen bits and pieces of My Name is Earl, and didnt care much for it. Also dont like the lead actor much (never liked him), so i doubt I'll be watching that show. :)

BTW... why arent we in bed yet (not together, obviously(!)), but it's almost 6 AM!? :D

I've been writing on that new film script for a Turkish TV station that is planning to produce cinematic films. When I used to co-write scripts for TV series from a German TV station I stopped at 10pm sharp. But since the Turkish TV station asked me to write whatever I think was cool, I couldn't stop until now that I'm very tired. Damn! I hate to sleep until 2pm. :D

It isn't My Sassy Girl. And like every other Asian TV series it's trash.
