Variety reports that Warner Bros. have hired writing team Kiernan and Michele Mulroney to write a script for a Justice League movie...
Warner Bros., with its major appetite for fresh franchises, is looking to make a feature based on super team the Justice League of America, hiring writing duo Kiernan and Michele Mulroney to pen the script.
It's the first major action the studio has taken on the project.
Feature film is bound to include some combination of DC's most iconic superheroes, although the studio wouldn't confirm which ones they might be. It's unlikely that the studio and DC Comics, a division of Warner, would opt to feature second-tier characters.
Since its inception in 1960, JLA has featured almost every major hero in the DC Comics universe, although the core team has largely remained the same: Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Flash, Green Lantern and Martian Manhunter.
The heroes typically band together to fight alien menaces or groups of supervillains.
"The Justice League of America has been a perennial favorite for generations of fans, and we believe their appeal to film audiences will be as strong and diverse as the characters themselves," Warner prexy of production Jeff Robinov said in announcing the hiring of the Mulroneys.
This could possibly be the coolest thing in the history of...everything.
Or it could completely suck. There's no middle ground with this really. Will they get Bale and Routh? Will Nolan or Singer come aboard? Will the script be good? So much going on with this. The possibilities are amazing for a live-action Justice League film.
I think a good idea would be to do a CGI animated movie with the same quality, or better, of Final Fantasy: Spirits Within...only done in the style of Alex Ross' artwork. That'd be truly amazing.

Would be cool,the Justice League animated series is fantastic,like Batman vs Superman from a few years back though,i can see it being scrapped due to budget concerns.

I'm guessing it will suck sadly, unless Bryan Singer is on board. With that many characters many are bound to be sidelined. I can see it being another Wolverine (aka - X-Men).
I don't think they'll have many problems with the ensemble if they do it right. The characters are all so different that they mesh well together, which is why it's the most popular comic book "group" of heroes ever. With something like X-Men, the characters kind of blend together and get lost in the process, but with JL, that's more difficult to do, since they're so very different and unique.
X Men 2 is amazing mind you but still I find other directors of superhero movies far more intresting.
I still think Blade which kicked off the last 10 years of superhereo films is one of the best, cost a lot less than Superman Returns and Spiderman 1,2,3 etc.. and is far better than them all.
I say throw cash at great films, not overarated action heros who get pimped to death and then get boring. I am not even excited about the next Batman film because they hyped the shit out of the last film as if it was the perfect film and it changed holywood, bollocks it did.
Singer and Nolan are the only two people, outside of Richard Donner, who understand how to translate a superhero to film intelligently and with conviction and proper dramatic weight.

I fail to see how the cost or hype or what-have-you really makes a difference to the film itself. All of that is seperate from the film. It's best to take a film on it's own merits, not all of this other bullshit. But that's just me.
