Haven't heard of it prior. It sounds like 24 and Prison Break. Seriously there's gonna be an over-saturation (if there hasn't been already) these style shows (like how all the clones sprung up after CSI become popular) and there will be cancellations after a short episode run for some. So I wouldn't get attached to many. There's a limit to what people will watch, some will stick with US viewers and others won't.

Eg 2005/2006 victims of that tried to imitate Lost's success:- include Invasion, Surface and Threshold.

I wonder if Heroes and Jericho will live to see 2nd seasons?

"Day Break" is rated by the American audience in the same league as "Lost", "Heroes" and "24". And it shows due to the high numbers of watchers during prime time.

Possible bad news for Day Break. Looks like ABC execs have decided to move LOST to a 10:00 time slot when it returns, so it won't be up against American Idol. In the meantime, they're deciding what to do with Day Break come January. They might possibly yank it and have a news show in the 10:00 time slot, rather than move Day Break back an hour to the 10:00 p.m. slot, too.

I'll go find the link for you. Discussion is going on at TDVDForums about it. Variety is their source.

Only slightly OT, I think that moving LOST shows that the network has lost confidence in what was once its best show. They're protecting it so it won't have to compete with a more popular show. The later time slot is risky, if you ask me. A LOT of viewers turn off the television at 10:00 p.m. The move seems to show an acceptance that they will be losing viewers, but maybe not as many viewers, by taking it out of direct competition with American Idol.

Damn. I just got hold of the first 4 episodes and was going to watch them soon, but there doesn't seem to be much point if they've cancelled the show!

Why dont the producers of good TV shows just continue with producing these TV shows after it's pulled, when they know they have a large audience for it?
Just continue making new epidoes, if no channel wants to air it: fuck it! The fans of the show will just get it on DVD. Plus if it's succesfull I'm sure they can just sell it to other countries as well. So with the DVD market now being as profitable as it is, why even care if it gets pulled when you know you are making a quality show with a big fanbase!?

Downloaded a bunch of eps for Heroes. Not watched it yet. Currently the only shows I'm watching are Ranma and Death Note...

Radio Times called it 24 meets Groundhog Day. It's showing on Bravo, but I've missed most of it, I dont know what channel Bravo is on on Sky :D

I saw the feature-length premiere of this on TV and it was pretty exciting, definitely one that I'll keep watching.

Honestly I doubt that it would've worked outside of one season, unless it was about a totally new character each time.

Another of my favourite shows of this year, daybreak, has been fantastic viewing. I must admit initially I thought this was going to get old very quickly yet it's been top notch through every episode so far. I agree with Eva I don't think the show would work outside of one season unless it has a new lead character each season.

I'll be sad when this finally ends however it has been terrific TV, like Blade the TV series, and I'll be looking forward to adding both those DVDs to my collection.
