Ahh that is pretty cool man, its good project management experience so good luck to you for that. About 2 years before heading off to the development dept, i was asked to go to india to setup Tech Support for our US dept. It was all planned, except I got refused an entry into India, which really pissed me off. The reason was because I had a pakistan visa there (As my family are there, plus they said my dad was pakistani), I tried to explain to them that my father was born in India in where is Hyderabad, Duccan (sp?) but they werent having it. So the company sent another guy who got the visa straight away. We finally setup the tech support in Chennai. The good thing was that I went to New York to chat to the US dept and got a visa straight away!!!Tigercage wrote:Slasher, i set up call centre's! Not good i know but hey, its a job!!!

I don't understand but don't you need an Indian Visa to enter the country? Or does a Pakistani Visa suffice?slasher13 wrote:The reason was because I had a pakistan visa there (As my family are there, plus they said my dad was pakistani), I tried to explain to them that my father was born in India in where is Hyderabad, Duccan (sp?) but they werent having it.

This was different from what the Indian Council said to my work, if I was to go there and setup a Tech Support Centre, then my work would need to apply for a work visa for myself or whoever went there.BiscLimpkit wrote:I don't understand but don't you need an Indian Visa to enter the country? Salaam E Ishq 2.75/5
Aside from a beautifully translated English title (Love's Sweet Salute) and a few glorious musical numbers, we have a fairly mediocre and poorly structured movie.
In the style of such films as Until the Lights Come Back, The Uchoten Hotel and Love Actually, Salaam E Ishq follows seperate relationships facing their own crises. The stories themselves were actually quite interesting and would've made five and a half good films. Instead we get a marginally above average one.
There are so many problems. Firstly the length - omg 216mins!! Secondly, some of the relationships tackle some real sensitive issues but sugarcoat it with pathetic comedy. Furthermore, most are conviniently resolved in a quick 10 minute conclusion. There is a half-assed attempt to link the stories, although one is completely independant to the other five.
This is the first Salman Khan movie that I've seen. Does he usually act like such a homo?
Surprisingly, I found myself enjoying the Govinda story - it worked really well.
Salaam E Ishq wasn't a total failure but it was wasted opportunity. Shame.

Eklavya: The Royal Guard 2.5/5
Number of songs: 1
This is a collosal disappointment. I've never seen such a predictable film before. The twists are foreseeable well in advance, making the entire experience bitter and unsatisfying. I'm fed of seeing an A-list cast delivering b-grade performances. Bachchan's bloodshot eyes make me yawn now - I feel nothing.
The cinematography, art direction and set pieces were lovely though. Even the premise merits originality and had potential. However the director guffed up big time. What should've been a poetic, suspenseful drama turned out to be an insult to the audience's intelligence.

Sholay 4/5
Many claim Sholay (aka Flame) to be the greatest Bollywood film of all time. I was a little sceptical as to how this could be any different to your average vintage Bachchan flick.
Drawing heavy inspiration from Sergio Leone's Spaghetti Westerns and Kurosawa's Seven Samurai, Sholay is a remarkable accomplishment of filmmaking. Purely from a technical viewpoint, the film is riddled with sophisitcated camerawork, excellent use of slow motion and clever editing. It wasn't just a case of simply pointing the camera at someone and shouting "action!" Director Ramesh Sippy captured ambitious angles under immensely harsh desert conditions. The storyline is a classic tale of good vs evil but at 204mins, could've trimmed certain chapters for the sake of tighter pacing.
In retrospect, I can see now why many were mesmerised by Sholay's impressive visuals and action-packed storyline. It set a new benchmark for future Bollywood directors and still holds up today as an all time classic.

Lets resurrect this thread
Jhoom Barabar Jhoom - 4/5
Okay this has no story, well a little, but it works for some reason. I really enjoyed this movie, the title music is just soo good. Like seeing the Big B. I liked Preity and Bobby Deol in this, don't like Abhishek, but he is actually okay in this. Less annoying then in Dhoom movies, actually quite likeable. Would recommend to watch, may get this on dvd, it is pretty surreal movie, nice small twist at the end, which I also liked.

Again lets resurrect the thread
Om Shanti Om - 5/5
Farah Khan and Shah Rukh Khan have done it again, After a good start with Main Hoon Na, this next project is bloody good, with a different story from your typical bollywood movie. The 1st part of the movie takes place in the 70's, which was very good, brought alot of old memories of indian movies when I use to see them as a kid. The 2nd part takes place in nowday. The actors and actresses are all brilliant, special credit must go to newcomer Deepika Padukone, she is brillant, very beautiful, and much better than Ash Rai. Also another mention must must go to the superb Deewangi Deewangi song, Oh my, if you love the old bollywood then you will love the cameo they have got, I can't believe that even Mithun Chakraborty!!!, Dharmendra and Jeetendra. I just to love watching there movies in the 80!!
Overall a perfect movie, don't miss it in the cinema if you love bollywood movies

Indeed he is, he is pulling a Hrithik Roshan (From Dhoom 2) methinksBiscLimpkit wrote:5/5 bloody hell man, you must've really loved it.
I read the premise and tbh, it didn't interest me that much. Also the poster's quite funny, SRK looking unusually ripped.
In the award show, Abhishek gets a nomination for not appearing in Dhoom 5, Everyone in the cinema cracked up on that
