hey,

and the mentioned flintstontes cartoon-esque remix on the Fox is NOT worth the price of admission. Someone at Joy Sales got a real hard on for those kind of sound effects, even including them in old school movies.

You'll have to make your own version with other unmentioned sources.

I don't mind grain (it's unavoidable) just as long as detail is retained.
You wouldn't be able to use the PAL sped-up HKL soundtrack to create a custom version matched to any NTSC picture. Unless you slowed the PAL-sourced soundtrack down to 30fps.

The HKL DVD is a remix anyway ;). I'd actually be slowing the film down to 24fps.

English Audio: Chinastar DVD/MIA VHS.
Cantonese Audio: Chinastar DVD/MIA VHS.
Mandarin Audio: Chinastar DVD/Joy Sales DVD.
Video: Joy Sales.
Subtitles: HKL.
Extras: Joy Sales DVD/HKL DVD/Poly Canyon LD.

5.1 remix in Cantonese (if it's any good) would have been nice too 8) .

Does the Joy Sales have subtitles or are they the dubtitles from the FOX release? Is the original Cantonese a down mix or the real deal? More so that i can finally retire my FOX DVD. I don't care at all for English audio dubs anyway.
I also looked on DVDCompare.
I'm back AGAIN.
Film grain is a good thing dammit! Say NO to DNR/EE!

The JS is a downmix with "Mickey Mouse" effects.

As far as I recall the HKL disc is excellent.
