Cool but I'd prefer to have had DTS.

Just curious. I'm watching DD's Seven Swords right now and I just wanted to know something: how does the ending for PA's Seven Swords DVD differ from the original HK version?

If you want SPL in the UK, TWC will probably release it soon since they own the rights to it there as well as other English speaking territories. For now, Dragon Dynasty is exclusive to the US only.

DD will be releasing titles in the UK, at some point.

A good chunk of the their Asian library is owned by the likes of Contender and Tartan in the UK though. So don't expect to see DD releases of Police Story 1&2, TYG, IA1-3, etc.

I seriously doubt that anyone here has bought the PA release of Seven Swords, since we know that it has been cut to ribbons.

Apparently the reviewer is a moron, he can't tell the difference between Mandarin and Cantonese.

Whatever they do, I hope they stick with FS's previous gorgeous looking print of PS2. I thought PS1 should've looked much better.

Will that be the HK cut of PS2 or the Japanese cut (in the Trilogy Boxset)?
I'll probably upgrade my HKL (HK cut) of PS2 then.
The rare outtakes will probably be the ones on the Japanese version of PS2 so the DVD could be HK cut plus JP outtakes.

We won't know until the disc is released and people have it in their hands. There's actually a good chance they've used the Jap cut, since they've been utilising Fortune Star masters.

I am almost certain it will be the longer cut found in the trilogy box set.

I hope they use the 106m HK cut as that's more than long enough.

The extra 16m in the JP is pure padding.

The best version is actually the international cut which runs 96 mins, but it's unfortunately English dubbed only.

Because it's craaaap. Well, actually because it is owned by some other company, but it's still one of my least favourite modern day JC films.

as far as I'm aware, Disney owns everything released in theaters. Everything released on dvd only by Disney, DD could get.

Thanks Linn. You wouldn't happen to have a list by any chance?

I've no idea what Disney released in theatres and what they didn't.

It's in my top 3 JC films and miles better than PS or PS2 :D

So no chance of Drunken Master II or Mighty Peking Man? I think Fist Of Legend was straight to video

Thanks Mark.

Only PS3 and IM interest me in that lot (HKL's IM is fine). Shaolin Soccer already has a perfectly good UK DVD.

I expect so.

Can't see Brian White sitting on Fist of Legend and Fong Sai Yuk too long.

I'd love to see a proper release of Fong Sai-Yuk 1 & 2.
Still hoping for a 2007 release by HK Vidéo, though. :)
