Bangladesh has a few dialects. There is the offcial dialect spoken mainly in the Dhaka area which is used in films and TV. I speak the Shylet region dialect which is very different from the proper dialect. Because I grew up in the UK I only ever heard the Shylet dialect so I find the official dialect hard to understand. Heck I probably understand japanese better. BTW people from Bangladesh are called either Bengali or Bangladeshi not Bangladeshians  Here ends the lecture, my fees are in the post 8)

When I was over there a few months ago I picked up a stack of DVD's, all very cheap 50p each or somthing. quality varied greatly, but you cant complain for the price.

:) I'm not sure but why is it that some Indian actors/directors etc have only one name? :)

Not heard of this but found the imdb page here.

I'm also not sure why some are credited with one name. Maybe it's hip or something, but I'm sure that they will have had a first and last name at birth.

I know that Mongolians do not have a second name. Only one name.

It suppose to be really good as well. They seem to kept the original story but tweaked it a bit for the indian movie

30th of December 2006: I have justed watched Don 2006 Remake. Very very good, Shah Rukh Khan is excellent in this movie, it is a bit violent in the beginning, but after the 'duplicate' it does get funny. Highly recommended, I can't wait to see SRK being a villain in Dhoom 3 now.

May the way, saw an excellent website, and it has my most favorites songs, so I will list them here for you

Kal Ho Na Ho- The main theme music, totally great music and if you have seen the movie, quite sad :(
Suraj Hua Madham from K3G, this is my favorite music ever. I love this movie, everything is perfect from it, and this songs is just soooo...
Rang De Basanti - Classic Aamir Khan movie about friendship and also pride in your history.

I will add more in later. Keep this thread alive :)

Ok due to diplomatic pressure from these forums, I ordered:

Dil Chahta Hai
Lage Raho Munnabhai **
My Brother... Nikhil
Sholay

** = My dad made me order this

Now my Bollywood wishlist stands as follows (i.e. these titles are not ordered yet but are next in line):

Dhoom 2
Kabul Express
Kal Ho Na Ho
Lagaan
Devdas

Yup the 1st one is Munnabhai BBS, check out the IMDB link: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0374887/

Very cool and quite funny, but I do like Sanjay Dutt, he is a wicked actor. I really liked him in Saajan (Felt sorry for him here), Khal Nayak and Kaante (City of Fire remake or ripoff). I have got DUS which I been meaning to watch, may watch it tonight..

I was just reminded of this thread when watching The Simpsons, the 138th episode where they show outtakes and stuff, and one bit where they're watching a Bollywood film.

Bollywood satire:

Apu: I hope you enjoy this movie. It made every Indian critics top 400 list.
Girl: La la la la la.. I'm in love with Johnny.. etc
*Two guys crash through window, shots of stand off*
Bart: This sucks
Homer: No it doesn't - it's funny. Their clothes are different from my clothes! See? Look at what they're wearing! Ha ha ha!

:D

Yes I have been looking to find a good dvd for this movie, if you liked Laagan then you will love this movie. Catchy songs, plus excellent story, Aamir Khan is very very good, however Kunal Kapoor, Madhavan and R. Siddharth steal the show. They are newcomer yet there acting is excellent. The story is very good, how an old indian legend rising from oppression can be valid in today world with the corruption that india politic are

Yes this is the one I have seen in Tooting: http://www.indiaweekly.com/datacart/pro ... uctId=8218

The uncut version, I want to see what the a/v is like on it, I will do a search and put the answer on here. By the way Bisc, please could you comment on here when Dil Chanta Hai comes to you, I think I will buy it from India weekly, as cannot find my spark dvd no more :(

I spent yesterday looking for it, and its lost, so if Rang De Basanti looks good, then buy those two :)
