From the way you're saying it, I suppose you fit in the 3rd category.

I can't understand this kind of logic.
Ignoring insults is not healthy.

But I respect your opinion.
Just forget what I said, then. :)
I used to be "the man who loves the movies you hate".
Now I'm just "that weird french guy with a cat avatar who comes to BnB once a year for no reason and then disappears again".

can i just make the point that is not healthy either to take every insult to heart. people in this world are pricks, not worth wasting your time on them. i dont give a fuck if people insult me, outside im quite different to here, alot shyer, so its a case of what you think of me is your problem, not mine.

like their isnt enough violence in this world without peple taking offence at comments/insults and going apeshit over them

I guess he's not used to people disagreeing with him, and being unable to ban them or edit/delete their posts...

We all know Brad can be anal at times. We have all given him stick for it more then once on this site alone. Hell, I know I have.
So I can understand mods getting frustrated. But to ban someone for asking a question or voicing an opinion, it's ridiculous. And just not a normal way of communicating between grown up people.

That was actually a Simpsons quote

But I do think that this whole thing got blown way out of proportion. I'm just aggrieved that the outcome was that the Restoration site has come down.

Depends on the insult, and how I feel at the time. If someone who doesnt know me comes insulting me in the streets, and I'm in an OK shape, that fella is gonna learn to stop disrespecting random people.
So yeah, usually in real life when I have the chance, I'll step up to someone who insults me.

On the internet though... pfff... who fucking cares!? I sure dont. I'll say what I'll have to say, have my arguments, I'll debate etc... but I'm not gonna go taking anything personal and get involved in dumbass namecalling etc...

Didn't the guy with the eagle, that is supposed to rescue Bart from the well, say that?

I think he was dropped on his head too many times as a kid (Colin that's a joke :D).

Yeah I can be a tit sometimes ;) (I'm sure I'm not alone on this forum though).

I hope I have some redeeming factors, surely?

Exactly. You've put it perfectly here.

Yeah  I've just cracked up laughing thinking about the scene, with the high-class sounding trainer  The fact that it's punctuated by the eagle's cry just tops it off

*wipes tears from eyes* Oh, mercy :)

Well... you've just created another thread that's worthy of BnB Gold.
That's good enough for me. :D

Sure, I've always said I'd like you perfectly fine in some threads, and then in others you would be a bit of a dick about small stuff...

I'm glad that lately you seem a lot more relaxed, less touchy and less anal (I think after the whole discussion we all had a couple of months orso ago about how we all like this forum to be...)
Also how you are now moderating is very different then, say, a year orso ago. back then you would just delete stuff, close stuff, etc... and we all talked about it and it annoyed me and others and now you explain actions, ask for advice, leave open options, etc etc... so it's a lot more social and civil...
:)

But anyway, back on-topic: Colin is a dick. Any news on that subject?

Thanks Yi-Long, it's appreciated.

I'm trying to listen + of course we now have two mods which has helped immensely. I doubt I'll always get it right mind you.

Also a few months back Eva was pushing things more than he now is, which helps. I'm trying to ignore it when he does.

He's jumped ship. I doubt we'll see him again.

I surely can't be the ONLY Bullets member whose also had some kind of problem over at "Colin's World" :D . Romero had but decided not to elaborate.

I'm slightly confused

I haven't read every page of this thread, or the DVDforums one that linked me to page 7 of this thread, so I don't know the full details, or the criticisms/bitching that went on (and frankly don't care)

The main thing I want to know is, did Bradavon get banned from DVDtimes/Forums solely for comments made at places other than the times/forums sites?

No problem Brad. If you do crap that annoys me I always speak out about it, so when you get stuff right it's only fair to also speak out. That's how it works in life.

I just feel it's nice that we all, as a community, discussed all the stuff regarding modding and rules etc... and we all came to what Bullets is today, with relaxed mods and modding, and civil discussions etc. Ofcourse members will be at eachother's throats from time to time. We all have our own opinions and ideas and good and bad days etc etc... but I just like how this place is relaxed enough so that shit can happen and we can 'fight' in one thread and 'discuss' rationally in the next etc etc...

Not many boards have that.

...and Romero is probably smart (who ever thought that would be uttered on these boards!?) to keep his mouth shut about his experiences over at Colin's place... cause speaking your mind on this board can apparently get you banned on his board....(!) :)

Nope... he already had a warning a few months back for somehing... then got a 2nd warning for asking/complaining openly about the size of some adverts, and then he came on this board to express his feelings about how that was unfair, and 'some member' (who will go unnamed) called Colin a dick... and Colin decided to ban Brad from his site...

:D

I like that too. We have a bunch of people who don't take things too seriously.

What Colin saw fit to post it publicly on DVD Forums? I must be special :D . Not that I can see it as it's probably a member only sub-forum.

How ironic you need to post here to ask questions :D
tpr007 wrote:The main thing I want to know is, did Bradavon get banned from DVDtimes/Forums solely for comments made at places other than the times/forums sites?
Basically yes. For my comments over these 8 pages, which in return connect to one 2 week ban "years ago" and 3 black book marks spread over DVD Forums and DVD Times.

The recent catalyst was asking if the advertising could be reduced which resulted in a black book. I (and since others) thought this was completely over the top so decided to air my opinion.

You can see what I said here: http://www.dvdtimes.co.uk/content.php?contentid=63665

It was THIS thread though that really put the nail in the coffin :D

Colin is still welcome to post on Bullets btw.

Hey I wont get wrong for saying anything I am sure as its the truth :D

I spoke out about dvddebate years ago (I think thats was its name) I said something like I dont want it to merge with DVDFORUMS as I hated its overpowering influcnce, something like that and I got banned from DVDFORUMS for it.

I asked if I could still be a member of DVDFORUMS as I did like the place and I was allowed back, simple really. When I 1st joined DVDFORUMS I also got peed at a few peoples attitudes to me and some of my posts. I also said something to a mod by saying something like "Ban Me then", I didnt know he was a mod mind you :)

But I learned, and I dont swear, dont slag of members and just stay out of the flame wars people get into as some people love to get on others nerves and no way a mod could ever spot that kind of thing. So I just ignore some people.

I can speak nice you know and really I dont mind the Black Marks, as hell some people can act like pratts and go too far and need to be banned once in a while.

Still until it happens to me I cannot say how I would react, as it depends on the situation obviously. I would hate to be banned from any site I visit, I would feel dirty :D
