Ignorant, as in logic is thrown out of the window and people do things that are so stupid its almost unwatchable.
SPOILERRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
Such as cutting off his toungue! its ridiculous, as dumb as a film can get if that had not happened I may have felt better, but it was one mis step way to far out of reality
END OF SPOOIILERRRRRRRRRR
Loved the 1st half of the film mind you
and in the end gave it 3 out of 5, but the end dragged it wayyy down once the finale reared its ugnly head.

hey,
Candlelight's Woman 1.5/5
A little focus is there, just not sufficient by quite a longshot. Yeung Kuen's attempt at portraying the life's of prostitutes and hostesses is an attempt but outside of some things done right in Carrie Ng's story, even the bloody ending doesn't make the film worth it.

Survive Style 5+ - 2/5
What a load of crap. Well, okay, the second half is quite okay and Vinnie Jones is great... but the first 40 minutes; Pure misery. Endless tricks, forced weirdness, pointless stories.... even Asano is completely lost. Jokes aren't funny, the movie doesn't have any point and the soundtrack fails more often than it succeeds. That being said, the second half is somewhat enjoyable with some good moments here and there and the ending is very nice. But overall, I can't think of any other genuinely good reasons than Vinnie Jones and Reika Hashimoto (cute) to watch this pretentious piece of japanese pop-cinema. Not worth the effort.
Realism no yado - 4,5/5
Not much to say about this film. Peaceful perfection from start to finish. Wonderful actors, great cinematography and not a single dead moment. Also worked as a great mental shower after the stinking ’Survive Style 5+’ that I saw yesterday. In a way, that makes me appreciate directors like Nobuhiro Yamashita even more.
Rob-B-Hood - 1,5/5
Out of the 32 Jackie Chan movies I've seen this is by far the worst. Fights lack energy and excitement, comedy is boring, Louis Koo is irritating, Jackie Looks like a 60 year old woman... Aside some cute girls the only good thing about this movie is Nic Tse's hilarious cameo.
Dog Bite Dog - 4,5/5
What a wonderful movie I chose for Christmas Eve. So wonderful actually that I watched it again today. The only serious weakness is the unnecessary father-son relationship that sinks the movie for about five minutes. The rest is dynamite with excellent performances and great ending although I think the final five minutes could've been handled even more effectively (plot wise).

Confession of Pain - 4/5
Andrew Lau/Alan Mak weave a compeling film that is driven by it's characters and their motivations. Tony Leung and Takeshi Kaneshiro are in top form as their characters are haunted and controlled by their painful pasts.
Although the basic plot is cliched and predictable, the execution is terrific; the technical excellence is apparent throughout - solid direction, great editing and cinematography. CoP is a tense thriller that is leaves the you wanting
The audience let-on to WHO the villain is very early into the film, leaving the protagonist in the dark and having to play catch-up. The suspense of the film is found in the WHY and the WHAT.
Chapman To is not all annoying in the film and provides the comic relief as "Tsui the Bullshit", which is quite welcome in a rather depressing film such as this one.
Battle Royale 2 - 2/5
The first hour is fairly good - more of the terrific dark humour that made the first film so much with homages to Saving Private Ryan and the like thrown in.
Unfortunately the film goes dramatically downhill from this point the melodramatic tripe is heaped on and we hammered on the head over-and-over again with lectures about human nature, war, morality, blah blah... the imagery of children in Afghanistan was the bottom of the fucking barrel .- Crash (2004) is as subtle as Gervais humour in comparison to this turgid cesspool.

Haha, that's the exact opposite from my view. The first half is a disgrace. Nothing good about it. The second half is much more entertaining with all over-the-top drama and action and wonderful performance by Riki Takeuchi. Still a bad movie, though.EvaUnit02 wrote:

hey,
Give Me Back 2/5
Set in bizarro Hong Kong (Gnoh Gnok possibly) where the Women's Liberation Movement is in full effect. Meaning they pee on the streets, violently murder men, their fellow women, operate pagers inside the husbands and this oppression has led to the creation of The Society For The Protection Of Cruelty To Husbands. This is where abused Q (Kent Cheng) turns...
Hong Kong cinema being odd we're used to. By being this surreal it's something...different. A minor pleasure in itself.

On a second viewing I enjoyed BR2 more as I wasn't expecting another BR but it was still far from good.
All the America bashing without even the guts to say America really got on my nerve, that and as Eva says to pathetically add Afghanistan in was a joke.
I'd give it 4 out of 10 so probably the same as 2 out of 5.

Christmas time is movie time...
I´ve watched quite a lot in the last few days, but nothing too exotic or spectacular...
Die Hard 1+2
Movies you can watch even a hundred times...
3.5/5 4/5
Cast Away
Great!
5/5
Casino Royale
Watched that again. I'm already looking forward to the DVD and further Bonds with Daniel Craig!
5/5
The Emperor and the Assassin
Very impressive epos with great performances by the leading actors and a very beautiful Gong Li.
Too bad you know from the beginning how the story is going to end.
4.5/5
The odd one dies
Wow! Really liked it. Nice sense of humour and great atmosphere.
3.5/5
Munich
Great. Maybe a bit overlong
4/5
Trainspotting
Very imaginative and interesting. A good movie
4/5
Little Rita nel West
A western-musical also starring Terence Hill in a supporting role... well, my friend thought he would be the lead, this is why we watched it...
Probably the worst movie I've ever seen!

Wow! Watched this again tonight after maybe 2-3 years. Want to give it a 5/5, but out of some reason, I can't. Maybe because I hate that Jenny bitch. It is one of the few films that wets my eyes like 5 times everytime while watching it.![]()

Forrest Gump was pants. THREE of the Best Picture nominees for 1994 were more deserving (that's only because I can't remember the 4th; I'm sure it was better too).
Why would anyone want to watch Tom Hanks play a retard for 2.5 hrs is beyond me.
