Have IVL released A Better Tomorrow/The Killer?

Look here:

I like the colour on the box set almost as much as the IVL "ABT" set, for some reason "A Better Tomorrow" and "The Killer" have been repackaged by IVL, but it is a 3 disc set?

Whats the third disc?

I won't be buying this as I'm happy with Killer HKL and ABT set (IVL).

That makes me wonder whether IVL *will* release "Way of The Dragon" by itself or repackage it with something else?

Yeah i saw this yesterday as well... Kinda weird it also lists TONY LEUNG among the cast...

Could it be that Bullet in the Head is also included, but not listed?

I looked at both DDDhouse and yesasia, but neither had any info on this boxset... :naka:

Well this sucks, I've been waiting to buy The Killer separately as I think BITH is one of woo's worst films. I already own ABT though, damn! Guess I may have to buy BITH afterall.

This makes little sense to me as it's likely fans of ABT are also going to want ABT2 hence they will already own the trilogy box set. Plus what is it with all these box sets? I'm guessing because there is more money in it.

What could they possibly package it with? On second thoughts I'm starting to notice a pattern:

A. ONLY box sets
B. Each film in their schedule is also listed in the same month as another:

This makes sense(ish) with these two you're right but what about "Way of the Dragon". I always thought it was odd how this title was being sectioned off.

Anyway in the same month as "Way of the Dragon" they have "Legacy of Rage" (see link above) which according to IMDB is a Brandon Lee flick which also stars Bolo Yeung from ETD. Are you starting to notice a pattern? Well it must be this film as Fox are also releasing "Legacy of Rage" on R1 separately:

I'm now seriously thinking it will be WOTD and LOR in a box set, what a mess! WOTD is Bruce Lee's only directed film also.

It could be but think I it's more likely the listing is wrong. As it also says: "Cast: Chow Yun Fan/ Sally Yeh/ Danny Lee/ Paul Chu/ Kenneth Tsang"

Under "The Killers" cast listing, the film has two separate cast listing. Plus it's called John Woo's "Hero's" collection so is clearly (to me anyway) a box set based round one man hero's. I've not seen BITH but it has no central Hero right? It has more than one hero.

I think CD WOW did a quick copy/paste from another listing and messed it up.

Well, ITLOD 4 and Iron Monkey could both be packaged together as they have a theme running through them (Donnie Yen movies).

Legacy of Rage = His son's only self-directed movie (I think?) Then it would make sense.

Brad where is the IMDB entry for Legacy of Rage? I can't find it.

God I hope not. I only wanted ITLOD4 for the subs over the dubs on the R1 (I was planning to upgrade to the HK DVD). I am more than happy with my IM: PE and don't want another copy.

Maybe its' just father/son starring roles? They could box them together like that but I don't know why they chose WOTD in particular. I would of preferred "Fist of Fury"

Thanks BTW, I wasn't sure who directed LOR.

I don't want Iron Monkey again either, I think the PE is very good.

Well, I really want Iron Monkey but I've never seen ITLOD4, or any of the rest of the series either. I suppose I don't mind picking that up.

I would just pick up the Korean release of The Killer (it's the same as the IVL, right?), but it's almost the same price as buying one of these box sets from HK.

I own ITLOD4 and Royal Warriors from the series. I've not seen RW. ITLOD4 is available seperately from R1 Fox but has dubtitles and no Mono soundtrack.

It's much nicer than the HKL though. I owned both for a while and traded the HKL, the commentary is awful (it's not Bey Logan) and only has a Donnie Yen interview worth owning.

As for The Killer Korean DVD I didn't know there was one???

No mono track is listed though, so that would be a deal breaker too. And again, I'll take BITH if I'm getting it for free. I could probably sell it or something. Maybe I could give it another chance but when I saw it 10 years ago I wasn't a fan.

The Spectrum FS (the equivalent of the IVL FS DVDs) Korean DVDs don't have the Mono soundtrack. You need the HK DVDs for this. Although strangely their OUATIC trilogy does:

I didn't think that BITH would be in the new set, I just meant that I really want to get the remastered version of The Killer and if I have to get it as a set and have the choice between a movie I already have and a movie I didn't care for then I will take the latter.

Those were the HK DVDs, the Korean DVDs are newer but look to just be for the Korean market of the same DVDs.
