OK :), just wanted to make sure I don't lose out if I don't get that version, I don't want to buy the big-ass box if I don't have to.
I'd go for the Japanese Vol 1 however.

I still think both Kill Bill: Vol. 1 cuts work as well as each other for different reasons. I'm glad I have both. The colour one is well colour but the black and white is interesting suddenly all the colour being changed to black an white, then back again.

Me neither and tbh Vol. 2 was so awful I don't care anyway. I know how pathetically he dies and am happy with just Vol. 1.

Vol.2 is fantastic. One of the greatest ending in movie history.

I've owned 4 dvds of it btw.

It's rubbish.

All that build up to kill him with some silly push. All that old school mumbo jumbo went on for to long. Oh and Uma literally coming back from the dead, was almost as bad as the invincible car in DAD.

I couldn't believe my eyes. I loved Vol. 1 though.

Having seen the film 3 times in a movie theatre + god only knows how many times on dvd, I think it's safe to say I disagree :D

Edit: That was about Vol.2. I didn't see it as many times in a theatre as Vol.1, though

I also liked pt 2 more then pt 1. Pt 1 had the better action, but pt 2 had the better and more interesting story and better acting.

I dont really like the casting, for me Uma does a good job but I still dont like her in the lead role. The ending was 'mehhh'...
Normally you'd expect a long, drawn out battle... and I dont know why we didnt get that here, but it was still OK I guess...

However, Kill Bill (1+2) isnt a must-have for me, and like most Tarentino movies, I feel it's overrated. (My favourit Tarentino flick is Jackie Brown btw...)

I think Kill Bill Vol 2 is easily one of the single worst follow ups in history, it was just sooo disapointing. That ending is a joke, no thats to nice to it, it sucks donkey balls while riding on a frogs cock!

OK film, just the biggest disapointment (well apart from Land of the Dead)

Kill Bill Vol 1 is a masterpiece, perfect.

Tarantino is anything but over-rated:
Reservoir Dogs - 4,5/5
Pulp Fiction - 5/5
Jackie Brown - 5/5
Kill Bill Vol. 1 - 5/5
Kill Bill Vol. 2 - 5/5

Out of the 1349 movies I've seen since I started keeping record, I've only given 5/5 for for 15 movies. Four of them are Tarantino films.

Sorry for off topic.

Dont apologise :D nice to see you keep track.

I have only been keeping track for 2 years now, writing reviews for everything is the hardest thing. I rarley give out 5 stars, but many films deserve it, not many latley mind you.

Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs and Kill Bill Vol 1 get 5 stars from me :)

I guess so. I know my own taste is a weir mix between mainstream and not so mainstream. I even once wantced Hinokio and Angel Guts: High School Co-ed in a row. I didn't see anything strange in it. I enjoyed both movies.

Bill 1 was great fun, but it just does not work as a standalone film (by its nature).
Vol 1 - a MA flick
Vol 2 - a Tarantino flick

I think Vol. 1 works perfectly as a standalone film. Seriously. I'd love to see more movies with no real ending. I loved the ending of Crónicas (2004 / Cordero) for this reason.

I love Vol. 1 in itself. By comparison I thought that Vol. 2 was pretty weak, trying to tie together a story that wasn't very good. Vol. 1 just concentrated being a badass tribute film and a Tarantino film. I would have been quite happy without Vol. 2.

But that's only because you have seen Vol. 2. If it would never have been made, you would be like, "Where is Vol. 2 already?"

Hung its not that it has "no real ending", if it had no conclusion as such it would have been fine, but KB1 only tells half a story imo.
It's like LOTR: FOTR is only one third of a story :D

I would've been perfectly okay if they had filmed the first third only. It was the best third anyway. And the ending was very good. Unlike the ending of RotK.
