Yeah Cleese was in DAD AS Q, but in TWINE he was "R" (Q's successor), leading to a brilliant gag:

What a coincidence you watched it as well.

Something else I really didn't like were those "ego-shooter - like" camera angles in the scene at the beginning where the politician was assasinated...

btw: Do you know the name of the journalist? - Louis Koo's love interest in the film...
She looks like a mixture between two of my favourite HK-actresses: Cecilia Yip-tung and Chingmy Yau.

This movie really must have cost a lot of money.
I liked it. Of course, war isn't only a fight between two people, but as the movie was quite thrilling and Ed Harris was in it i didn't care about that and had a nice time watching it.

hey,

Ringo Lam really does ballistic action well but it's not his forte and the point of view angle there wasn't truly needed. I think there's a reason The Suspect was sandwiched in between Full Alert and Victim. It's just so much worse compared to those glorious films, IMO. (Enter Mark...)

btw: Do you know the name of the journalist?

That's Ada Choi, quite an underrated actress in my opinion who's appeared in way too many lesser vehicles considering her talents (including The Suspect. She just vanishes). She's good in the drama Love & Sex Among The Ruins and against Roy Cheung in Once Upon A Time In Triad Society 2.

What's the video quality like in your versions of "The Suspect". I have the German disc from e-m-s and the picture quality sucks.

it's an old Mei Ah so expect decent colours, a bit too high contrast and poorer blacks because of it. Watchable obviously.

This was okay but all the different accents got on my nerves. It was only okay anyway.

hehe... I've got the same disc. The picture qualitiy really is very bad, especially if you consider that this movie was made in the late 90's. The subtitles also only show what is said in the German dub - that's very funny if you watch the scenes with Simon Yam, talking English.

I got it for 3 euros only, so I thinks it's okay. I guess it's been one of e-m-s's first releases, they became much better now (their versions of Full Contact, Chinese Ghost Story etc. are great!).

Have the e-m-s box for the Chinese Ghost Story trilogy and they are indeed fine. 5.1 only yes but aside from some heavy front effects for part 2, all tracks are basically wide mono, which is fine by me.

Three - 2/5, Kelly Brook Body - 5/5
If you want to see Kelly Brook in the nude then watch this movie (but short scenes, her body is very lovely thou), otherwise an okay movie, some parts are like Lord of the flies, but didn't feel that Billy Zane camped it up enough.

Goal - 5/5
I didn't think I would like this movie, but damn i am impressed, it is a lovely story about an mexican going to newcastle united. The whole movie is great and Anna Friel is so lovely in it

Yup as Eva said, there are a few shots of her baps which look fantastic I have to say. Her whole body is soo nice, the film is okay.. but like I said, you will only want to see this for Kelly brooks body (Quite surprised she done a movie like this thou)

EDIT: Any decent trailers? Those streaming ones as usual are rubbish. I don't know why they bother, in the days of Broadband we shouldn't have to put up with such small resolutions.

Casino Royale

Martin Campbell has confirmed this is a 2 parter and he won't be returning for the instalment,

Pity as bar a few niggles:

1. Yes it's about 20 minutes too long
2. M as Judi Dench is right out of place
3. A reference to 9/11 (What???)
4. No Miss Moneypenny

I thought it was awesome.

Incidentally I also learnt they could bring the 2 year gap forward because of this 2 part idea. Martin Campbell confirmed all this when he was speaking to Jonathan Ross on Film 2006.

Casino Royale is gritty, dark and tough. It's definitely border-line 15 and NOT one for the young kids.

It's great to finally see a Bond after so long to look like a hard nut, someone you wouldn't mess with. There's no way Pierce Brosnan could've played the part, they took the ideal opportunity to reinvigorate the role.

Eva Green is also very good (she's only 26), she has some real intensity to deal with, something the Bond girl is never normally aloud. One shower scene (not as you're thinking) is handled very well.

I remember they tried to make Bond feel pain in Die Another Day to quickly throw the idea away as soon as possible, this time it's for real, in one scene he's all cut and bruised. The torture scene is already pretty intense so it will be interesting to see it uncut.

Oh and what are you guys on about the version I saw had gadgets just they were for and far between, and grounded in reality.

It did remind me of Doctor Who in the sense of a fresh start while throwing away some of the old staple aspects that make up Bond. It doesn't feel like a Bond film at all, that's not a bad thing (or good thing) mind you.

Bond even says he loves someone, which contradicts a remark in a previous film stating he's only been in love once but does give us a reason for why he keeps women at a distance as he grows older.

Overall very good. I can't wait to see what they do with part 2, I hope it then goes back to normal however.
