You got 2 £1 vouchers... Did you enter twice? People who entered more than once were filtered out, so if you did that you won't have qualified for the £5 voucher.Markgway wrote:Fucking great!

I sent for mine at the same time as you guys so they couldn't have already been doled out. I can't believe 8,000 people entered before I did, which was over a week ago.

I used different e-mail addresses.
The reason I did that was in case I only entered once, got a £1 voucher, which is what usually happens to me, and missed out. I figured some people would enter about a dozen times, so if I did two it would increase my odds of getting at least one £5 voucher. Instead, I got two £1 offs.
Shafted again.
I wonder how my Dad got on? He's a regular customer.

Firstly that's not playing fair now is it Mark, would you jump off a cliff if others did? I'm surprised they sent you two. What would've happened if you'd received two £5 vouchers?
I'm pleased you didn't get one.
I got a £1 voucher too. I did try 11 hours after Grim though.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
BUT wait has anyone else noticed the prices have been bumped by £1? The price of Serenity anyway has sneakily gone up from £4.99 to £5.99.
If I'd known Play were going to bump the price I wouldn't have specifically waited, bought it and still have a voucher.
I can now buy the DVD still for a good price of £4.99 but the voucher is wasted. I hope this is the only DVD to "mysteriously" jump in price today.

I was just trying to get one -- and even that failed.
Fuck you and fuck Play who've just lost a sale.I'm pleased you didn't get one.
I only tried a few hours after Grim. Hard to believe 8,000 people beat us to it.I got a £1 voucher too. I did try 11 hours after Grim though.

You're not alone Play for vouchers are shit.Markgway wrote:I think it's because I've never gotten the good vouchers when these offers arrive. I always get the 50p or £1. Kinda sucks is all.
Yeah that's bollocks like they make sure only one person gets one.romerojpg wrote:So its not 1st come at all sadly.
I doubt I'll be using my Play.com voucher as 95% of things I want are cheaper at CD WOW or elsewhere anyway. If I don't I'll be posting it here tomorrow night for someone else to use, except you Mark

I ended up going for "Tie Me Up! Tie Me Down!", that's five Almoldovar films I now own (the R1 of this is OOP). I've only seen 1 of them, yet I keep buying more
I've seen 2 Almoldovar films and loved both of them. He's a fantastic director, which few on this forum will give a try, pity
£3.99 I'm sure well spent.

I would, but the Sony R1's are expensive and I'm not going to buy the crap Fox/Pathe R2 releases (except for Tie Me Up, Tie Me Down which looks like the best release out there). I picked up Live Flesh (anamorphic) in the Madman sale, god knows when that'll arrive though.bradavon wrote:He's a fantastic director, which few on this forum will give a try, pity

Hated his films.Saw most of them (older films) when they 1st came out because of the stars in them. God they are awful films. He wouldnt even be know of if it wasnt for sex in his films.bradavon wrote:I ended up going for "Tie Me Up! Tie Me Down!", that's five Almoldovar films I now own (the R1 of this is OOP). Fair point on the rest but clearly otherwise you've no idea what you're talking about many don't even have sex and those that do it's integral to the story.
You really have a hang up about sex don't you Romero. Any film with sex in it is usually rubbish in your opinion, unless it's hollwood unrealistic sex of course.
Tie Me Up, Tie Me Down is best from Fox. Live Flesh and All about my mother I picked up the cheap Korean DVDs which are clones of the R1s (AAMM R1 is the best).
Nice to hear others will give Almoldovar ago too.
He's easily a more interesting director than Kitano IMO but both are very talented.

Yeah I know. I finally plumped for the Sony's as they're best which oddly are still expensive, despite being old releases.EvaUnit02 wrote:I would, but the Sony R1's are expensive and I'm not going to buy the crap Fox/Pathe R2 releases (except for Tie Me Up, Tie Me Down which looks like the best release out there). Kitano is extremely versatile. Don't be fooled just cuz he's made a lot of violent crime films and becuz that's what he's best known for in the West. As you know he's a talk show host, comedian, serious actor, writer, director, respected newspaper columnist, novelist and painter (also one-time game developer).bradavon wrote:He's easily a more interesting director than Kitano IMO but both are very talented.
