HAHA, I told you this was coming!

Universal has sent over early details on a two-disc collector's edition of Brokeback Mountain which stars Heath Ledger, Jake Gyllenhaal, Michelle Williams, and Anne Hathaway. The set will be available to own from the 23rd January, and should set you back around $29.98. The film itself will be presented in anamorphic widescreen, along with English Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround, and DTS 5.1 Surround tracks. The extra material has yet to be confirmed I'm afraid, but we'll bring you further details very shortly.

It also seems you're expecting surprise :D

Good stuff time to sell my R1, no big deal. I expected this but as it wasn't confirmed at the time I still went with the R1, it wasn't expensive.

I hope it gets more than just never-before-seen footage, postcards and DTS new. I'll wait to hear the final spec. but if it's decent I'll get rid asap.

p.s - Thanks

Extras are up: http://www.dvdtimes.co.uk/content.php?contentid=63131

So this SE accounts to extra:

DTS
2 featurettes (A Groundbreaking Success + Music from the Mountain)
and some photos?

Whoopy Doo. The rest are on the current DVD.

I seriously doubt those are enough to justify an upgrade. DTS is nice but a featurette on music + a featurette on "praising each other on how well we've done"? Yipeey. I bet it would've all nicely fitted on 1 disc without DTS. Where's the director's commentary?

I'll only upgrade if the two new featurettes are surprisingly long/meaty but seeing as one is on the movie disc and the other on a DVD-5 I seriously doubt it.

DTS is the only reason to upgrade and that alone I'm not sure it's worth it.

p.s - Universal to everyone else "never-before-seen footage" means deletes scenes not stupid featurettes.

lack of commentary is a bummer (pun intended  ), woulda thought Ang Lee would be up for it.

The music is great, not enough music docus on DVDs. Hopefully this is a good one. Couldn't be assed to get the current DVD (pun intended ;) ) so I think I will give this one a go .. from behind- oooh I say.

The thing is I bet it's a featurette not documentary, the extras disc is only a DVD-5.

Yeah of course if you don't own it definitely get the SE. I doubt I will as it's virtually the same as the current disc.

Another joke of a Focus Features SE upgrade. Fuck you Universal for not including an Ang commentary. naturally I'll be buying this as I don't already own the film.
