I'll have to import this soon to see whether my player can "do" RCE or not and finally answer that question... I hope theyre just covering their ass with that little note at the bottom.. Play label it is RCE too...
Hahaahaha man it was 5.99 at cdwow back when it was brand new you missed that one then, I didnt I havent watched mine yet, but it was cheap so I dont care.
It was likely the R3 (I think it was) - I'm hopefully taking a chance on the uncut DVD of the film
That WOW price includes £2 of discounts anyway (or most likely), take that away and this is about the same, R1's are usually more expensive
It still is that price but as you say Grim it was and is the R3. As you want the R1 this is a cracking price (cheaper than DVD soon and DVD Pacific). Personally I'd get the cheaper R3 but I understand why you want the R1 so go for it!
I'd say go for it. If you can't play it I'm sure you can trade it.
Q: Does RCE effect Multi-Region Players?
A: Unfortunately some Multi-Region Players can be effected by RCE discs, but we've had many reports of Multi-Region Players working fine with RCE Discs.
Some RCE dvds can mess up your player, as they set to Lock oput mode and wont take dvds anymore (apparently) and a few other things can heppen I guess, but I am sure its very very rare and was when RCE was 1st intorduced.
Where did you read that Romero? I find it very hard to believe it will damage a player.

That doesn't say it will damage the player just that some players will have issues with the discs.
Well damage maybe isnt the way I describe it locked is some bug I would guess, thing is mine can lock if I press the wrong button and last time it happened (as I pressed the wrong button and the region was out) it shut and would not open for 3 days, it was hell so my player I guess doesnt break, but the bloody thing is nasty at times.
But most people dont have players like mine, and newer players I couldnt imagine anything like this happening at all.
Wow thats very good. Actually I'm tempted to get that as a) it avoids any potential problems (the discs will definitely work) b) the censored part is not cut but substituted, its' very small c) Unlike the UK disc, the extras are uncut. (The bloopers are missing on the UK disc AFAIK).
According to Rewind the Danish is as cut as the UK DVD (and is missing the Blooper Reel as well, the contents is 100% identical to the UK disc). I'm still tempted though, I mean that is a great price and I'd only watch the gag reel like.. once?
One thing does it say how Rewind knows the Danish DVD is cut? I don't tend to believe Rewind unless it says something to back it up.
I still don't get why the R3 would be cut? It's NTSC so can't be from the same master as the Danish R2 or R3 and is for a completely different part of the world to the UK???
Huh the R4 isn't NTSC? Its PAL (unless you mean the Brazillian R4?) Brazil is a NTSC country.
It doesn't say how it knows, according to Axelmusic themselves, the Danish R2 is 100% identical to the UK R2 (content wise). Strangely even the gag reel is missing but I think I can live without that.

Oops it was a mistake I meant R3 but surely you knew that?

If it's 100% the same how is it strange? Axel are saying the DVD contents are identical.

That's why I also provided the source link.
The £1 voucher has expired btw but it's still a bargain at £9.99 delivered. I'm not a Spider-man (the films) fan so I won't be bothering but it does look very nice.
I'd go for the Danish. The substitution is only 1s or something and whats the gag reel? Cast members making mistakes and laughing and saying "shit" or something. Oh fun
I doubt I'd find the LE that cheap. and I remember the R1 may not work (the extras may not anyway..)
Why would the extras not work? I believe most RCE discs are only RCE for the film DVD.
Good man you know it makes sense. I "may" pick one up for a gift.
BTW I placed an order today at 17:30 and I've just got an e-mal from Axel to say it "will" ship in the next 12 hours and will take 5-14 days. I'm impresed so far. I've ordered "Ray: LE".
1. It makes no sense to make the extras disc RCE
2. These sorts of programs are known to not be accurate. For example I have I Spy (starring Owen Wilson and Eddie Murphy) which is R3 and DVD Decrypter says it's RCE.
I started a thread on this and it was pretty much concluded that it's not RCE.
