@Bisc:
You're in for a treat, then.
I thought Rashomon was crap. :D

Must-see Kurosawa films:
Seven Samurai, Throne of Blood, Hidden Fortress, Kagemusha, Ran, Dreams.
I used to be "the man who loves the movies you hate".
Now I'm just "that weird french guy with a cat avatar who comes to BnB once a year for no reason and then disappears again".

Pff, do you just post stuff to see what response you will get? Rashomon is not "crap", my first Kurosawa - OK not as entertaining as SS, Yojimbo etc but it won acclaim and an Oscar in 1951 for a reason  Its' still a decent film.

Fair enough then, agreed. Silly thing to say.

Street Fighter: The Move is crap, how you can put Rashomon in the same category is beyond me (and I've not even seen it).

But look at the film's pedigree and acclaim over the years, the statement is ridiculous, its like saying:

"Gone With The Wind is crap, it doesn't even compare to Mortal Kombat/Starship Troopers"

Save your money and time by not watching this badly made kung-fu movie. The guys in this movie do not know martial arts at all. The story goes as follows: Some shaolin monk gets hired by some korean guys to protect their village. He recruits some other kung-fu fighters and goes to the village and kills all bandits. End of story. The fight scenes are so bad that it is laughable. I have seen movies by bruce lee and Jet Lee and they are vastly superior. Even the recent movie "the Matrix" has great hong kong type fight scenes, but this hong kong movie does not have any.

- User comment from IMDB. :D

I think we can safely say the reviewer at least thinks he's talking about Seven Samurai.

He can't even spell Jet Li right :D

I like the lamp post, it sort of hides her a little :) as she was running away from some scummy drunk :D

Personally Mortal Kombat and esspecially Statship Troopers are 100 times the film Gone with the Wind is, in every single way.

Wake me up when Starship Troopers (and yes, I have seen it), is mentioned in 2050/60 as one of the best, most iconic films ever made please. 8)

To be fair Grim Romero is just saying to him they're better films.

Hell I think Face/Off is a better film to A Better Tomorrow and "overall" better to Hard Boiled (followed closely by The Killer). In other words I prefer Face/Off to all three of them but do see The Killer is trying to be great.

Not on this forum he wasn't and only by the ignorant

Fair enough it's your photo, regardless it's excellent. The composition of the photo behind is perfect.

A shit movie starring Michael Keaton and a ghostly phenomena where supposedly the dead communicate with the living via radio.

Most of the time I would submit these people know what they are talking about, they've probably seen more movies than we will ever do. IMO what you say is quite a blinkered view of cinema. And its not just lists but general opinions, don't you listen to other people's opinions? I'm sure you do.

Surely you can see its influence on later cinema. At least see the film before you judge it, making such a sweeping statement. Anyway, if it was a film you liked (say Once Upon A Time In The West), which also has excellent critical and fan acclaim, some say its Leone's best movie - you wouldn't be saying that "Lists mean nothing".

Yup even if loads of films I love are on a list, it still means bugger all to me. I didnt add any to the shit lists. I hate people who think a certain film is better than another and get there point into one of these pathetic top lists.
